Powerlifter John Haack pulled an easy 400kg on the deadlift!
Not every athlete is built for training with heavy weights, but there are those who enjoy heavy weights. One such person is powerlifter John Haack, who at just 28 years old has already broken several world records. John competes in the 90kg weight category, but with this body weight he can lift really heavy! He recently managed to break 400kg on the deadlift with ease! With this performance he could compare with the best strongmen in the world even from much heavier categories! John was even able to pull 405kg in training, which was an unofficial world record.
After making his professional debut at the 2013 USAPL Badger Open, John Haack competed primarily in the 82.5 kg (181 lbs) and 83 kg (183 lbs) weight classes. Haack was the 2016 International Powerlifting Federation champion before moving on to the United States Powerlifting Association. And this year, this great triple jumper was able to set another world record. He did it at the World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF) Showdown 2021 in Kansas City, where he had a combined total of all weights at the end of the day of 1,005.5kg (in the under 90kg category)! Which is even more than anyone has ever been able to lift in the 100kg or 110kg weight classes!
