Mr. Big Evolution Pro 2022 - Andrea Presti defended last year's victory!
On Sunday, July 10, Portugal belonged to bodybuilding, when the next edition of the Mr. Big Evolution Pro competition took place here, where, as last year, both representatives of the Open category and their lighter colleagues, whose maximum competition weight limit is 212 pounds, had the opportunity to present themselves on the stage.
Let's take a look at how the fighters in both of the aforementioned categories fared, and who secured a ticket to December's Olympia Weekend.
Open Category:
Fourteen fighters took the stage in the heavyweight category, with the pair of Andrea Presti and Tim Budesheim, last year's first and second men, being the biggest favorites.
Presti also managed to score a point a week ago when he took second place at the Orlando Pro 2022, where he was only beaten by Hassan Mostafa.
Morgan Aste was also on the podium at the Portuguese event, and at 192 cm tall and just under 140 kg of competition weight, he is impossible to miss, even if you try hard. Although he is always one of the most prepared fighters on the stage, and this time was no different, he will not reach the top positions, as his physique is not one of the best.
The aforementioned Aste was clearly the best prepared fighter in the starting field, but as mentioned, his unbalanced physique prevents him from capturing any of the higher ranks.
As far as preparedness goes, Antonio Valero Tuinenburg, a newcomer to the professional division, was also really famously good. He offered hard and perfectly chiseled muscles, but unfortunately he was one of the most subtle fighters on the stage.
Thus, in terms of readiness, symmetry and body balance, only two fighters had the best combination, both the already mentioned Italian Andrea Presti and his compatriot and namesake Andrea Muzi. They were the two who fought for the victory.
The lucky one was Presti, who managed not only to defend his victory last year, but also to secure his participation in the Mr. Olympia competition for the second time in a row! In December, he will have the chance to show that he is capable of more than the 16th place he won last year.
He defended his victory mainly because he offered the aforementioned combination of preparedness, symmetry and balance in all stances, whereas Muzi only offered the front and side stances. The back stances were not his strong point as he was too flat in them compared to his opponent.
So Andrea Muzi had to settle for second place, which is not a bad result at all, as it secured him more valuable points for the qualification ranking for Mr. Olympia 2022, where he now shares the third and last place with Steve Kuck.
A very respectable third place was won by Petar Klančir from Croatia, who returned to the podium after a five-year break from competition.
Tim Budesheim, last year's runner-up, followed him to fourth place, while Vladislav Sukhoruchko rounded out the Top 5.
The aforementioned Morgan Aste managed to fight his way to a respectable sixth place in Portugal.

Categories up to 212 lbs:
The lighter weight class featured only eight fighters, and you'd be looking in vain for a clear favorite looking at the start list.
However, that changed immediately when all the fighters took to the podium, as the entire starting field was clearly dominated in every way by the overall winner of the attached Olympia Amateur Portugal 2022 event, Dean White!
For no one else could offer such a symmetrical and complete physique, full, hard and rounded muscles, and an absolutely professional stage presentation!
So Dean, in his first start amongst his professional colleagues, deservedly went on to win and with it a direct qualification for this year's 212 Olympia!
Second place went to Daniel Sticco, whose asset is his absolutely fantastic arms! With this result, the Italian professional secured the second place in the qualification ranking.
The Top 3 was then closed by Hammed Juma, who offered the best quadriceps across the entire starting field!
