James "Flex" Lewis will not compete at Mr. Olympia 2020!

This year's Olympia Weekend, like the whole season, is marked by the worldwide pandemic of Covid-19 coronavirus, which, not only in our country, closed gyms again.
Despite this, athletes and fans alike are looking forward to it. The biggest draw is the annual Mr. Olympia competition, which is the most prestigious!

The huge attraction of this year's event was to be the participation of seven-time Olympia 212 Showdown winner James "FLEX" Lewis, who after winning his 7th title in 2018 decided to leave the 212lb division and head to the heavyweights!

However, in a video posted today on his Instagram, which was picked up by many websites including Npcnewsonline.com, James informed his fans that he will not be competing in Las Vegas, where the event is traditionally held!

At the urging of his wife and after consulting with his trainer Neil Hill and doctors, he has come to the decision that he will not be stepping on the competition stage this year!
The reason for the decision not to bring his training to a successful conclusion for the first time in his career is thought to be an as yet unspecified chronic injury.

I can tell stories about competing with injuries, being damn sick, being blind on stage due to conjunctivitis. Pulling? No way!
Making this decision with my team was not easy. I fought it hard and I'm still fighting it. I'd be lying if I said otherwise. But I'm in good shape and I'm staying positive about all of this.

I want to wish all the athletes who will be competing at this very special Mr. Olympia the best. It will be one of the most unique and crazy performances ever.

It's going to be one hell of a show. !!!! Good luck, guys!
