IFBB bans Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions

Because of the war in Ukraine, various world committees are banning or restricting Russian and Belarusian athletes from competing in international competitions. For example, power triathlon, weightlifting or CrossFit are no exception.

Another sport that has taken this step is bodybuilding under the banner of the IFBB, which issued an official press release confirming that it has decided to ban all Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials from all international events.

In view of the dramatic situation that has affected and isolated Ukraine, as strongly recommended by the IOC, and in order to preserve the integrity of IFBB activities and the safety of all participants, the IFBB Executive Committee has decided that Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials will not be allowed to participate in IFBB international competitions.

This resolution will be reviewed in the light of developments and any new recommendations from the IOC and international sports authorities.
