The "world's strongest schoolboy" squats twice his body weight in just 10 years!
Rowan O'Malley is a weightlifting phenomenon known as the "World's Strongest Schoolboy". In a recent interview on This Morning, O'Malley revealed that he started weightlifting at the age of one and wants to continue to pursue powerlifting. When working out at the gym, O'Malley regularly takes in an average of 3,000 calories a day.
According to O'Malley, he started power triathlon at a very young age, but he started without weights:
"I started without weights so I knew what I was doing first, I broke the world deadlift record for a 10-year-old at nine, that's when it started to get a bit serious."
With the ability to lift twice his body weight, Rowan continues to set records in powerlifting. Currently, O'Malley is already the strongest 10-year-old boy under 56 kilograms of all time. But he's not the only impressive strongman to make headlines at the age of 10. Rory Van Ulft is known for his deadlift strength, and Jordan Mica, the USAPL record holder, is another kid who is garnering praise for his epic strength feats.
