Strongman Jiruše moved his 140 kilos and destroyed a trapper in gloves

A deadlift well over 400 kilograms and a body like a rock. You'd expect a guy like that to be slow as a tank in the ring. But Czech elite strongman Jan Jiruše is busting myths. In the latest boxing training footage, he proves that he can move his extreme muscle mass at a dangerous pace.

Jiruše is a household name in the world of extreme strength. His numbers (be it squats or bench press) are more reminiscent of the weights of smaller cars. But when he puts on the gloves and stands in front of the laparoscopist, he turns into a completely different sporting beast. The video shows that he's done away with the stiff posture required to lift extreme weights and instead relies on explosiveness.

A transformation that hurt

But the road to such dynamism wasn't free. As Jiruse recently revealed in an interview with MMA fighter Lee Brichta, the early days in the gym were literally a baptism by fire. His cardio was used to short, maximal power bursts, not several-minute boxing intervals. So at first he was gasping for breath after just a few rounds.

Added to that was the bad luck of a serious biceps injury that temporarily put a stop to his plans for his debut fight. A body built for fifteen years for static work simply had to learn completely new motor habits - and that took a lot of work.

Hammers in motion

Today, however, the situation is different. The footage circulating on social media clearly shows the huge technical progress. The Czech giant shows smooth rotations of the torso, sharp head turns and combinations that require the trapper to be constantly alert. Jiruše moves with surprising ease on his feet and the punches that fly out of his 140lb body have absolutely devastating potential.

So there is only one crucial question - will we see the moment when he finally tests this dynamic power in a fierce fight under the spotlight? The fans are clear, they would like to see him in action as soon as possible.
