Ramon Queiroz on Chris Bumstead at the 2023 Olympia press conference: 'Any pose, I'll beat him'

The Mr. Olympia 2023 competition is almost here and bodybuilders have already started to apply. During the Olympia press conference, classic physique competitors Chris Bumstead, Ramon Rocha Queiroz, Urs Kalecinski and Breon Ansley took part in several heated shootouts before taking the stage.

Chris Bumstead is ready to get his fifth Classic Physique victory

Although there were several bodybuilders vying for the throne, Chris Bumstead made it clear that he will not be intimidated and will once again reign supreme at this weekend's show. In response to Phil Heath's question "Is it just another day at the office?" , Bumstead clarified that he's not just here for the trophy.

"I'm here for a few reasons, I'd say I'll definitely take home a trophy, but that's not the only reason I'm competing this year."
"If I've learned anything, it's that I have to shut down a lot and go into performance mode. But this year is different, I want to feel it and enjoy the training."
"I'm looking forward to being here and enjoying it, that's what it's all about.
I know these guys are just fighting for second place," Bumstead said.

Chris Bumstead also addressed the recent changes in Classic Physique's criteria regarding weight and height. Some competitors feel that this is what will help them break through to the top. Cbumc, however, thinks otherwise.

"I can't lie. It's kind of humorous, it was a bit of an honor when I heard that it was an unfair advantage for fighters who are 6'8", 6'9"," Bumstead said. "I've established a look in Classic Physique."
"When you have to come in at such a low weight and sacrifice muscle, and it's not going to be your best look I might add, you're going to look tired and your body's not going to stand out. Seven pounds is substantial. I may still have to lose a little muscle. But not that much. I'm able to keep more muscle.
Keeping more muscle lends itself to better looks, more maturity, more density, which is definitely one of my strengths. More maturity and more density. That's what I bring."

Kalecinski also took a dig at the reigning champion's new private gym

Competitor Urs Kalecinski, who has been rising rapidly up the rankings over the last two years, revealed how he feels ahead of this weekend. Kalecinski recently trained alongside Chris Bumstead and believes his youthful energy and hard work will be enough to bring Cbum to his knees.

"Anything can happen these days, but we'll find out Saturday night," Urs Kalecinski said.
"Yes, he's definitely getting older. I knew that I had invested a lot in myself in the last year and that I had worked hard in cold Germany. He's got his great gym, where he also gets a great workout in good weather. I've been working like a horse, and besides, it's always good to train with other riders."
"It's good when we push each other in a certain way."

Ramon Dino's confidence is at an all-time high ahead of the title fight

Ramon Rocha Queiroz aka Ramon Dino, who finished second at last year's Mr. Olympia 2022, is confident he can overcome the odds and snatch the title right out from under Cbum. Most of the bodybuilders who led at Olympia shared consistent physique updates, although Ramon Dino did not and revealed that he feels they don't matter.

"It doesn't matter what the pictures show, it's not a strategy, I'm only interested in what I show on stage. " Ramon Dino is confident that he has what it takes to 'Cbum'.

"Whatever pose the judges pick, I'll beat it," Ramon Dino shared his impressions.
