Lee Priest: "If you have roid rage, it's only because you're a complete moron."

"Steroids won't give you roid rage. That's you," Lee Priest said of the substances and cycles of younger athletes.
Australia's Lee Priest has watched the sport change drastically since his last podium appearance. Like many other bodybuilding veterans, he believes younger competitors are overusing performance enhancing drugs. In a recent IFBB AMA YouTube video, Priest expressed his anger caused by roids and the reasons why today's athletes often don't enter competitions.
"Now the little kids who want everything overnight think they can become great overnight, become a pro, and unfortunately some of them actually become pros because it's so easy today," Priest explained.
You can't blame steroids for everything
It's the same as an angry drunk. Priest argues that the anger caused by steroids is a byproduct of a person's personality, not because they took anabolics.
"If you have anger because of steroids, it's because you're from****** kr****," Lee Priest said. "Like people who drink alcohol, some people become violent drunks while others become happy drunks. Steroids don't induce rage in you. It's you. You're trying to blame it on steroids," he added.
"Not once have we discussed cycles. It might have been on a big discussion platform or a bodybuilding.com forum, maybe one post about using PEDs, but that was it. Now fast forward 10-15 years and here's the stuff these guys are talking about. I'm not saying this about all of them, but if you look at the discussion boards, 'I wonder what the cycle is. I wonder what he's taking. Is he training this. He's training that.' When I look at the people who write that, most of them don't have the genetics, they don't have the head or the heart."
"They're not willing to do what it takes. When I say 'do what it takes,' I don't mean we should take steroids. It's about training fucking hard until you throw up, until you're sick. I haven't gone to nightclubs my whole life, I haven't partied. I've been training and looking for sponsors. I worked until I got sponsorship deals. Eat, sleep, train. If you want something, you have to earn it."
While some in the industry disagree, Priest mentioned that drug cycles are being talked about more now than ever before. Additionally, Priest pointed out that just because someone takes a cycle like Ronnie Coleman, doesn't mean they will achieve his stature!
