Keone Pearson wants to win the Arnold Classic! But he admitted that he doesn't have enough muscle yet
Keone Pearson is one of the most prominent figures in professional bodybuilding today. His combination of massive muscle mass, a narrow waist, and exceptional proportions has secured him a place among the most successful competitors in the Men’s 212 division. In October 2026, he won his fourth consecutive Mr. Olympia title. And although he could continue to focus solely on breaking records in his current division, he is increasingly talking about a much more ambitious goal.
He wants to make his mark among the world’s heaviest bodybuilders. In a recent interview on the Cutler Cast podcast, released on October 27, Pearson spoke about his future in the Men’s Open division and his relationship with the Arnold Classic. And his comments certainly did not go unnoticed.
The Arnold Classic? When he’s ready to win!
Pearson confirmed that he received an invitation to the upcoming Arnold Classic. Nevertheless, he decided not to accept the offer for now. The reason isn’t a lack of ambition. Quite the opposite. The American bodybuilder admitted that he doesn’t want to compete in such a major event just to test the competition. He wants to show up with a physique that has a realistic chance of winning.
In his own words, he isn’t massive enough yet. He realizes that moving up to the Men’s Open means competing against athletes who have been building muscle mass for a long time without an upper weight limit. So Pearson doesn’t want to rush anything. First, he plans to continue his training and gradually build more muscle mass.
When the time is right, he wants to truly compete for the title.

He gained his first experience with the Men’s Open in Prague
For Czech fans, Pearson’s plan is particularly interesting. In 2025, he competed at the EVLS Prague Pro, where he tried his hand at the professional Men’s Open category for the first time. And he certainly held his own. In his debut, he placed fourth in a very strong field that also included Michal Križánek, Samson Dauda, and Martin Fitzwater.
Pearson thus confirmed that his exceptional physique can impress the judges even in a category where significantly higher competition weights are the norm. However, his experience in Prague also showed him what he needs to work on. If he wants to compete with the absolute world elite, he’ll need to gain more muscle mass without losing the aesthetic qualities of his physique.
And that is precisely one of the biggest challenges of his planned transition.
According to Pearson, the competition is exceptionally strong
In the interview, he also praised the current level of the Men’s Open. He mentioned Derek Lunsford, Samson Dauda, Hadi Choopan, and Nick Walker, and pointed out how close the competition for the top spots is today. According to Pearson, even relatively small differences in competition readiness can determine the final standings.
So it’s not enough to just show up with big muscles. Proportions, symmetry, muscle quality, definition, and the ability to present one’s physique on stage are also decisive factors. Pearson knows full well that these are precisely the qualities that have helped him win in the 212-pound class so far.
As he continues to bulk up, he’ll need to strike a balance between size and aesthetics.
Will he break Flex Lewis’s record, or will he move up to the giants’ division?
Pearson still has one more crucial decision ahead of him. If he stays in the Men’s 212 division, he can continue his pursuit of James “Flex” Lewis’s record of seven Olympia 212 titles. Pearson currently holds four. Another option is to move to the Men’s Open division, where he could try to rank among the best competitors without weight restrictions.
Both paths offer an exceptionally compelling athletic story. The only thing certain so far is that Pearson doesn’t want to rush his future. He has declined to compete in the upcoming Arnold Classic, but he plans to compete in it in the future.
When Keone Pearson does make the move to the heaviest weight class, he won’t want to be just another name on the entry list. His goal is victory.

GymSupps Super Sleep
Keone Pearson’s story shows how important it is to tailor your training to your current capabilities and long-term goals. If you’re trying to build muscle mass, don’t forget to get quality rest in addition to adequate energy and protein intake. Regular sleep is a crucial part of recovery after strenuous physical activity. If you want to establish a regular evening routine, check out GymSupps Super Sleep, which contains ingredients such as L-glycine, L-theanine, magnesium, and chamomile extract. Magnesium contributes to normal muscle and nervous system function and helps reduce fatigue and exhaustion. However, the supplement alone does not guarantee faster muscle growth or better-quality sleep. The foundation remains adequate nighttime rest, sensible workout planning, and long-term consistency.
