Instead of a barrister, a successful fitness instructor - The story of Mel Wilkinson, who was consumed by exercise

Since childhood, Mel Wilkinson aspired to a career as a successful barrister, but during her university journey she realised that this was not what truly fulfilled her. She decided to quit her studies and head in the direction of weight training and fitness. She dedicates five days each week to exercise, with her workout lasting three hours each day. She became a fitness instructor and coach and law school is a thing of the past for her.

Ever since she was eighteen, the twenty-eight-year-old fitness instructor has had a strong inclination towards exercise. During her college days, she was a regular at the gym and was known to either sit over books or work out. Over time, movement became not only her passion, but an addiction that overcame her initial interest in a legal career.

"Ever since I was about 16 years old, I dreamed of one day taking up weightlifting and participating in those prestigious competitions where you show off your muscles in all their glory," she shared.

She also changed her eating habits thanks to working out. She didn't rely on various supplements for muscle growth; instead, she worked hard on each of her muscles.

"My interest in weightlifting and weight training increased significantly during the first wave of the pandemic when I was forced to stay home. This was a great help in building my dream muscular body," she told The Daily Star.

Mel says she is very competitive and once she gets a hold of something, she doesn't give up easily.
