Hafthor "The Thor" Björnsson lost his daughter

The birth of an offspring is surely the biggest event of every person's life. There are certainly many who prioritize their career, be it work or sports, but these people do not know what they are missing, or they find out too late.

Sometimes, unfortunately, it happens that hand in hand with this happiness comes sorrow. As the saying goes, misfortune doesn't walk on mountains, it walks on people. Although in this case, that's not so true.

Icelandic strongman and actor Hafthor "The Thor" Björnsson, who became famous for his role as Gregor Clenage, known as The Mountain, in Game of Thrones, is in great pain these days. He announced the death of his premature daughter on his social media accounts.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the birth of our daughter Grace Morgan Hafthorsdottir, who was born on November 8 at 21 and a half months pregnant. After a noticeable decrease in movement, we discovered that her heart had stopped beating. Words cannot describe the pain of this loss, nor the happiness we felt for the time we were able to spend with our daughter. She is absolutely beautiful, with blonde eyelashes and eyebrows, and a little smile for mom and dad.

The love we feel for her is overwhelming. The grief we feel will always be with us, but so will our love for her. all our hopes and dreams for her have been taken away, but I know I will be with her again. Her spirit lives on through us and her siblings. I ask that you respect our privacy at this time as we grieve this unbearable loss. Thank you all for any kind words and for your support."

Apart from his role in the above mentioned series, Hafthor is also very well known for his sporting activities. He is rightly regarded as one of the biggest personalities in strength sports. He is the first and the only person to dominate three strongman competitions in one calendar year. It happened in 2018, when he won the Arnold Strongman Classic, Europe's Strongest Man and World's Strongest Man.
