Exercise specialist examines the training, diet and steroids used by wrestling star Hulk Hogan

"Pray and take your vitamins," said Hulk Hogan, a true representative of the 80s. Dr. Mike Israetel, an exercise expert, elaborated on the diet, training, and steroids that this professional wrestling star used during his legendary career on YouTube, providing insight into his practices.
"What are we going to do today? We'll look at his training, we'll look at his diet, we'll look at his supplements, I think. To the extent that it's legal and we'll give you exercise science advice."
The latest subject to find himself in Dr. Mike Israetel's hot seat was Terry Gene Bollea, but you may know him better as the famous professional wrestling star Hulk Hogan. Hulk Hogan was popular in the 80's and his passion for wrestling led him to success in the WWE. In a recent YouTube video, Dr. Mike Israetel attempted to provide some information about Hulk Hogan's diet, training, and steroid practices. Dr. Israetel first looked at Hogan's possible steroid use at the height of his career.
Dr. Mike Israetel has an extensive knowledge of the mechanics of exercise and its effects on the body and shares his experiences with fans on social media. He frequently discusses a wide range of topics, such as heavy lifting or questions about whether drinking diet sodas causes weight gain. Some of his most entertaining works include breaking down the training techniques of celebrities and well-known figures in the fitness industry.

"It was actually the steroids that helped him, not the physical therapy," Dr. Israetel said.
"You bet he did [after learning that Hogan was taking growth hormone], he must have been constantly injured."
Next, Dr. Israetel explored some of the ways in which Hogan trained his biceps.
"Aside from exercising to failure and well, all of these things have nuances, it's a heck of a list of recommendations. So basically, pick a weight that you can lift with a full range of motion, take that weight into failure with the right form of execution, and if you can do it for any number of reps, then you've got the right weight in your hands. Man, Hulk fucking tricked me with that one. Huge respect."
Neck pulls served as Hogan's next exercise, and Dr. Israetel was impressed by its intensity.
"Guys, two things: One, if you don't look like this when you train, you're a lil bitch. You need to up the intensity by a thousand. Second, he's doing neck pull-ups. Damn."
"Very effective exercise. Line of pull-ups, it doesn't tax the lats anymore, probably a little less to be perfectly honest. If it doesn't make your shoulders tight, try it. If it bothers them, don't try it."
Israetel continued to examine Hogan's form on the bar bends:
"This isn't a terrible technique. Everything is isometric, the stem with 135, it's really hard. Really hard. He's fucking strong."
During the incline bench presses with the barbell, Dr. Israetel commented on Hogan's execution and technique.
"Hey, that's a good range of motion. It looks like real weight. Maybe?"
For the finale, Dr. Israetel looked at some of Hogan's eating habits.
"This is the most honest fitness bullshit I've ever heard. Like what did you do for fitness in the 80s? And he's like, 'I don't know, steroids, weight training and beer'. Oh, 'Did you have sex with a stripper?' He's like, 'Yeah, all the time. Plus, "Did I mention cocaine?"
Before and after the game, Hogan drank three Miller Lites and two Tylenol. Hogan says his "post-game" meal was 12 Miller Lites.
"Wrestling is fucked up, man. Three Miller Lites to get you in that party atmosphere, there's hydration and carbs and Tylenol to get rid of the pain, and alcohol to get rid of the pain."
