Dexter Jackson wants to get in shape, inspired by Kevin Levrone

Legendary bodybuilder and 2008 Mr. Olympia winner, Dexter "The Blade" Jackson, has announced his intention to return to peak physical condition. Fifty-five-year-old Jackson, who is professionally retired, was inspired by the recent transformation of fellow bodybuilder Kevin Levrone and plans to once again boast abs in the second half of 2025.

No more unhealthy snacks

Although Dexter Jackson still trains regularly, he has indulged in more freedom in his diet since retiring from the competition stage. By his own admission, he became fond of biscuits and crisps, which showed in his previously chiselled physique.

"I'm not out of shape, but I've lost my abs,"

says Jackson. It was the sight of Levrone's visible abs that motivated him to toughen up his diet and workouts.

The "Back in Shape" Challenge

Jackson is about to start his own challenge to get back into shape. His goal is to show that it is possible to maintain a great physique even after 50. And he's not the only bodybuilding veteran to have worked out recently. Other famous bodybuilders such as Jay Cutler and Dennis Wolf have undergone similar transformations.

Levrone's example pulls

Kevin Levrone, who inspired Jackson, achieved his transformation through a combination of intermittent fasting and functional training focused on athletic performance. That approach seems to have appealed to Dexter Jackson, who is ready to return to the discipline that earned him the Mr. Olympia title and a record five victories at the Arnold Classic. Fans can look forward to "The Blade" being razor sharp again soon.
