CBum has spoken: Who will dominate the battle for the throne in Classic Physique?
The world of professional bodybuilding is gearing up for the peak of the season - Mr. Olympia 2025. As the start of the competition approaches, speculation abounds as to who will take home the most prestigious titles. Chris Bumstead, who is temporarily leaving the podium after six years of Classic Physique reign, has also added his voice to the debate. His picks are being watched with great curiosity as few know the competition as well as he does.
The battle for the Classic Physique throne
The Classic Physique category will do without its king this year, so there is a unique opportunity for new faces. Bumstead considers Mike Sommerfeld as the biggest favourite, who finished in silver position last year and has the chance to rise to the top this year. Close behind, according to Bumstead, are Ramon Queiroz and Terrence Ruffin, who are also contenders for the historic title.
Men's Open tips: will Dauda defend?
The situation is seemingly clearer in the royal Men's Open. Last year's winner, Samson Dauda, has the best chance to defend, according to Bumstead. He puts Hadi Choopan in second place, which would give him a chance for a "rematch", and Nick Walker in third. He also includes Derek Lunsford and Andrew Jacked in his top five.
Other legends also agree with Bumstead's picks to some extent. Eight-time champion Lee Haney also believes Dauda will retain his title. Ronnie Coleman, on the other hand, has a bolder view - he thinks Hadi Choopan will reclaim the throne. Whatever happens, fans have something to look forward to as this year's edition is even more exciting due to the unexpected rivalry between Nick Walker and Derek Lunsford.
