Brandon Curry confirms he will compete at Mr. Olympia 2023!

After a sudden visit to the hospital and health problems, Brandon Curry, the top Men's Open competitor from 2019, is ready to compete again at Olympia. In a recent Instagram video, the former Mr. Olympia 2019 revealed that he'll take on the best in the world tonight when the prejudging of the Men's Open division begins.

As a former Mr. Olympia, Brandon Curry is just one of two men to receive that honor on the podium this year. Last year's reigning champion Hadi Choopan has the same goal as Curry - to become a two-time Mr. Olympia winner. All indications were that Curry would put on one of his best performances, as his coach teased a physique update towards the end of the respective preparation. With an unmatched fullness of muscle, shape and newfound fitness, Curry intends to make a statement.

Below you will find a statement from Brandon Curry regarding his health and participation in Mr. Olympia 2023:

"There's a lot of information floating around about what's going on with me this weekend. Lots of crazy rumors, the internet has a life of its own. I'll make it short, I felt weird this weekend and didn't want to ease it, so I wanted to go for a checkup to make sure nothing serious was happening to me."

"Since I'm out of town, I headed to the ER to see what was wrong with me. Of course you want to go to the health competition so you don't take any unnecessary risks. After consulting with my wife, we decided we needed to do everything we could to make sure nothing serious was going on. I stayed in and had all the tests they could do and they concluded that I had some ulcers that I didn't know about."

"Guys, I'm here, I'm ready to step on stage," Brandon Curry said.

"I encourage all of my fellow athletes who compete at the college or amateur level to take care of themselves."

"I just had to make sure I knew what was going on before I committed to the show. Now I have permission, a stone has fallen from my heart. I'm free to compete and I'm ready to fight."
