No one could have predicted how last year's Mr. Olympia 2022 would turn out. Although Mamdouh "Big Ramy" Elssbiay entered the competition as the overwhelming favorite, he was sidelined for most of the show due to the poor form brought on by new champion Hadi Choopan and runner-up Derek Lunsford. Brandon Curry, meanwhile, took fourth place.

Mamdouh "Big Ramy" Elssbiay was forced to withdraw from the Mr. Olympia 2023 show a few months ago. Then earlier this week, tragedy struck when Nick "The Mutant" Walker also had to withdraw due to a serious hamstring tear. While fans thought the last-minute drama was over, Bob Cicherillo has now announced that Brandon Curry, former Mr. Olympia 2019, will likely withdraw from the competition.

"He wasn't sure if he would be able to compete. It doesn't look like he's going to make it this year, but of course we wish Brandon a speedy recovery. He'll also be here this weekend for a presentation, so be sure to visit him as you move around the fairgrounds," Cicherillo said.

However, Brandon's wife reported that Brandon is feeling better and it looks like he might be able to start after all, in the meantime, we'll keep you posted!

Although many contestants have opted out of this anticipated competition, the show is still going on. The Olympia Weekend 2023 competition takes place this week from November 2-5 in Orlando, Florida at the Orange County Convention Center.
