Europa Pro 2020 - Lukáš Osladil is heading to Mr. Olympia 2020!

This year's season of the IFBB Jim Manion Professional League, like many other sports, has been greatly affected by the Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic.

In Europe, which is otherwise quite rich in bodybuilding competitions, the first competition of this season took place yesterday, Sunday 11 October! It was the Europa Pro Championships 2020, hosted by Alicante, Spain. The contest was the only way for European competitors to qualify for this year's Olympia Weekend!

For that reason too, the Open and 212lb division fought for three qualifying spots for the 2020 Olympia Weekend instead of the now familiar one that was only for the winner!

Open category

In the heavyweight category there were a total of 18 fighters. Egyptian colossus Mamdouh "Big Ramy" Elssbiay, who tested positive for Covid-19 after his arrival in Spain, had to cancel his start. Slovak Igor Illés also had to withdraw, as he was struggling with a virus or food poisoning during the night from Saturday to Sunday.

After the withdrawal of the favored Elssbiay, the competition became much more exciting and balanced. There were several fighters who could have hoped to qualify for the Mr. Olympia 2020, including the Czech foursome of Milan Šádek, Slavoj Bednář, Lukáš Osladil and Jan Turek, who headed to the pros after his absolute victory at the NPC Worldwide European Championships 2020 amateur event!

In the first semi-final comparison, in which the winner is usually decided, Rafael Brandao, James Hollingshead, Samson Dauda, Regan Grimes, Andrea Muzi and our Lukáš Osladil were placed at the request of the judges. Depending on the position, the foursome of Brandao, Hollingshead, Grimes and Osladil battled it out for the triumph!

The remaining trio of Czechs, Milan Šádek, Slavoj Bednář and Jan Turek, presented themselves in the second comparison and fought for a place in the Top 10. Not only in this, but also in the fourth comparison it was obvious that the surprise of the competition would be the newcomer Jan Turek, who would beat his more experienced colleagues Milan and Slavoj!

James Hollingshead finally won the first triumph among the elite. He did not have an easy preparation when he found his friend Luke Sando without any signs of life at the beginning of May!
James wanted to honour Luke's memory by working harder than ever before, which would result in him looking much better than ever. He succeeded to no end. In fact, he showed a great deal of full and hard muscle on stage.

A perfect second place was won by our Lukáš Osladil, who confirmed with his result that he is the best domestic professional! Lukáš secured his fifth participation in Mr. Olympia in a row with his performance, which was once again marked by symmetry and excellent final readiness supplemented by additional kilograms of muscle mass! This is a very good record, which many of his competitors can only quietly envy! Moreover, he will be here to defend his excellent 8th place from last year's edition!

Third place went to Rafael Brandao. The fighter with a symmetrical and balanced physique lost to his opponents only in the amount of muscle mass.

Fourth place was earned by Regan Grimes. He will not advance directly to Mr. Olympia, but it is already clear that he will be able to compete there thanks to the points he has accumulated in the qualification ranking.

It should be noted here that although the above mentioned fighters managed to qualify for this year's Mr. Olympia, neither of them is still guaranteed to participate! Due to restrictive measures against the spread of Coronavirus by the USA, it is still almost impossible for a European to travel there at all! However, the organizers of the Olympia Weekend are constantly working to make this a possibility!

Samson Dauda managed to squeeze into the Top 5. He didn't qualify for this year's Olympia, but he will try his luck at the British Grand Prix in November, where he will be fighting for a place at the Olympia Weekend 2021.

Our Jan Turek achieved an excellent placing in his debut in Jim Manion's IFBB Professional League! The absolute winner of Saturday's NPC Worldwide European Championships 2020 took 8th place! The fighter, who just last weekend competed in the competitive IFBB Elite Pro, managed to defeat a pair of more experienced Czech fighters Milan Šádek and Slavoj Bednář, and thus made a great start to his new competitive stage!

The TOP 10 was closed by another of our fighters on the stage, the aforementioned Milan Šádek. The Amix Nutrition team member is disappointed when his goal was to win and advance to the Olympia. However, he is aware of the fact that he needs to pack on more kilos of muscle on his symmetrical and perfectly put together physique.
