The stage in Las Vegas shook under the onslaught of muscle! The opening round (prejudging) of the most important competition of the year, Mr. Olympia 2025, is over and fans around the world are now having heated debates. The battle for the title is wide open after the first comparison and the final promises to be one of the most dramatic spectacles in years. Defending champion Samson Dauda is under immense pressure, but Derek Lunsford, Hadi Choopan and returnee Nick Walker won't give him anything for nothing.

Let's take a close look at how the judges stacked up each group for comparison (callouts) and what it told us.

First Evocation: the battle for the title

As expected, the first Evocation immediately showed who was in contention for Sandow's statue. The judges put the top three favourites in the middle of this group of six and had them compare them in each obligatory pose.

The judges kept this trio on stage for the longest time and it was obvious that the decision between them was going to be extremely close. Nick Walker with his "freak" mass and Andrew Jacked with his enhanced lower body were also trying to have a say in the medal fight.

The second recall

The second group of athletes usually fight for the coveted top ten finish. Here too the competition was huge and each of the competitors wanted to grab the best possible position.
