Bikini Nicola Vachová underwent augmentation - was it the right decision?
In today's modern age of beautification, breast augmentation is, one could say, among the routine plastic surgery procedures. It is the enlargement of the breasts by inserting implants of different brands, shapes and sizes. How to know when it is the right time for augmentation, how to choose the right clinic and plastic surgeon? What all did I have to consider when planning the surgery and the appropriate choice of implants with regard to exercise and bikini fitness competitions?

To begin with, I have to admit that in my case, there were no complexes behind the augmentation because of small, shapeless breasts. On the contrary, up to a certain period of time associated with the discontinuation of hormonal contraceptives, diet and competitions, I was more than satisfied with my breasts. I was not bothered by the size or shape and I have to boast that my breasts were more than passable for my petite figure (Supertrainer will confirm :D). However, that ended during race prep, when as a competitor I have to go for low body fat % and with it, of course, the fullness of cleavage disappears. That's why after three seasons of competition I decided to undergo augmentation. It wasn't an overnight decision and I spent several months researching all the information I needed for the procedure and choosing not only the right clinic, but most importantly the right surgeon. Finally, thanks to reviews and experience, I was convinced by Mudr. Chorvát from the Prague clinic. At the consultation I had in the summer, he explained everything in detail and I got answers to all my questions why yes, why no and what would be the best choice for me as an athlete. My wish was for my breasts to look good not only in everyday life, but also in a race diet and on the podium in a swimsuit.

At the same time, I didn't want my breasts (either size, shape or implant placement) to restrict my training in any way, so we decided to place the implants under the gland, not under the muscle. I left the choice of implant brand up to the doctor, and the Mentor brand round implants were recommended (it is possible for the implant to twist during exercise, which has no negative impact with round implants). When choosing the size, we had to take into account my small chest and the small margin where the implant needed to be inserted so that the "edge" would not be visible with a low fat percentage. The choice of implants is very individual, breasts look different on every body and I think it is good to respect the recommendations of a doctor who has experience. On the other hand, the doctor should always listen to the patient's wishes and do everything possible to ensure that she is satisfied with the result, but also that everything is in order from a medical and aesthetic point of view. I found all this with Mudr. Chorvat and so nothing prevented me from arranging an appointment for the surgery. The original date was a little later than I wanted, but I ended up getting the opportunity to have the augmentation a few weeks earlier. Everything went very quickly, and as the pre-operative examination (which was provided by the clinic itself) went well, it was no problem to carry out the procedure.
In the morning, on the day of the surgery, I filled out a few more necessary declarations at the clinic and then I was entrusted to the nurses who prepared me for the surgery. Thanks to the excellent care, I felt neither fear nor nervousness. I must admit that the worst part of the surgery day was knowing that I was not allowed to eat or drink. Fortunately, the time until the operation passed very quickly with a rest in the room and before I knew it, the doctor came for the last consultation and gave me the last details before the operation. At that point, the last step separating me from the procedure was to move to the operating room, where I was escorted by the anesthesiologist. All the staff, including the operating room nurse, were very kind and helpful, so I was able to stay calm until the last moment. The last sentence I remember from the theatre was from the anaesthetist, who wished me good dreams and good night.

The first wake-up call in the room was surprisingly more pleasant than I had imagined. I didn't have any major nausea or pain, the only unpleasant sensation that accompanied me was dizziness and weakness, which gradually disappeared over a few hours. I was worried about sitting up and getting out of bed for the first time, but I was pleasantly surprised when I managed it the first time without the help of a nurse. During the afternoon I was given food in the form of biscuits and soup. I tried to get plenty of rest and sleep. The night was peaceful and I slept undisturbed until morning. After breakfast I had a check-up and dressing from the doctor, who praised the result, and I was given instructions along with home medication on how to behave for the next few days until the next check-up. Then followed, a journey to the comfort of home, which fortunately was without any inconvenience. Now, hopefully, I only have a few weeks of recovery ahead of me and I hope to be able to return to strength training as soon as possible and without complications.
