Polypor is a premium extract from the Polyporus umbellatus mushroom, which is made from the fruiting body, i.e. the whole body of the mushroom in the reproductive stage, grown in a natural symbiosis of high quality natural wood = maximum potency. Mycelium on Grain (MOG), i.e. mycelium (the root structure of the fungus) grown in a low-cost way on cereals and rice (different composition with a high proportion of cereal polysaccharides), usually without detailed specification of bioactive ingredients on the product label (very often only a general indication of the polysaccharide content = starch is given).

MICO-POLYPOR - Polyporus known by its scientific name Polyporus umbellatus, Czech for choros ochros, is considered an important adaptogenic mushroom due to its content of bioactive metabolites with many beneficial properties. It is used in Oriental medicine in connection with the lymphatic system, and although it has a similar appearance to Maitake, with which it shares a genus and some areas of use, it differs from it. Polypore is less well known and also has no use in the kitchen, being used strictly for scientific purposes. It is called Zhu Lingm, Tsuchi-Maitake or Grifola umbellatus. In addition to beta-glucans, terpenes, enzymes and provitamin D, Polypor also contains significant amounts of copper and zinc. It has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 1000 years.

Hifas da Terra carries out environmental research projects aimed at restoring soil contaminated by hydrocarbons and substances from mining activities, as well as restoring soil damaged by forest fires. While some fungi are able to break down pollutants, others bring life to inert soil through interaction with the roots of chestnuts, oaks and various conifers. These symbiotic fungi species provide the trees they coexist with with great resilience and strength to survive in adverse conditions. The symbiotic coexistence of beneficial fungi with plant roots is called mycorrhiza. Hifas da Terra continuously plants mycorrhizal trees to help damaged soil.

Clean energy and energy savings
Hifas da Terra's headquarters are surrounded by natural greenery, which also requires a mastery of water resource management. Therefore, there is a well collecting rainwater, which, after ozone treatment, serves as a water source for the company's headquarters. Biomass obtained from the surrounding forest is used as a biofuel generating heat during the winter in our slate floors.

Less waste
Hifas also uses a closed loop system to manage waste from the grow bags and logs we use in growing our mushrooms. Once the production cycle of bags and logs is complete, the resulting substrate is used to nourish our soil with organic matter.
