We visited the BioTechUSA headquarters in Budapest!

We have just returned from a visit to one of Europe's largest supplement companies, BiotechUSA. We were invited for a tour of the whole company and had the privilege to see the offices, production and logistics of the company. We had already planned at the beginning of our trip to share this experience with you, so we documented our entire trip so that you can take a look under the hood of this great company too! But first, let's talk a little bit about this company and then we'll go through our excursion step by step so you don't miss a thing!

What's behind the BioTechUSA brand?

The history of BioTechUSA began in 1993 when Mr. Ferenc Lévai started a small family business distributing gym equipment in Hungary, but after a while he realized that there were bigger opportunities in the field of sports nutrition supplements and the company started to grow. Over the past 20 years, the small family business has grown into one of Europe's largest companies specialising in the manufacture and distribution of nutritional supplements. Now, his sons Bálint and Balázs are involved in the management of the company and are sure that working as a family is the key to success.

A visit to the headquarters!

Our first stop was at the company's headquarters in Budapest, where both the management and other employees have offices. As you can see in the pictures, their headquarters is a huge building with unusual architecture for which they have received awards. When you enter the building, their product range is on the right hand side for you to see. At the same time, upon entering the building, we were impressed by the incorporation of Japanese gardens into the offices, which evokes a sense of well-being. The brothers Bálint and Balázs, as well as their father, Mr. Ferenc Lévai, walked through the entire space with us.

The management offices are glassed in to see who is dealing with whom, which we liked very much. You can recognize these offices by the glowing B sign. Lunch and snacks can be enjoyed by all employees in the large communal kitchen, which of course includes BiotechUSA products such as zero sweeteners andbars. Interestingly, office workers have the option of using fat boys in the common areas or even a foosball table. Everyone supposedly knows what to do and if a given employee needs to unwind, it is no problem to go to the foosball with colleagues and discuss ideas or the implementation of tasks in the meantime. So the company's claim that the basis of their success is to work as a family is really paying off, and we have made sure that they really mean it!

Well... what can we tell you, everyone would like to have such a work ethic and such a sophisticated office.

Next stop - material storage, product manufacturing and logistics!

After the tour of the headquarters, we went a little further and drove to the company's premises, where the materials warehouses, product production and logistics are located, from where the packages go to the world. The whole area is really big, but the company is not satisfied with this space anymore, so they plan to expand their warehouses. That's enough said. BiotechUSA is a really big player in the world of fitness supplements and is constantly growing and expanding to other countries. We are so glad that we were able to see all this with a thorough explanation of the processes that happen in the areas of the facility, so we could see for ourselves how this whole corporation works.

In the logistics part of the premises we could see how small orders from eshops are processed, as well as large orders from partners from other countries, which were on several pallets. Unfortunately, we could not document any of this for you as it is a private company and we totally understand. The same was true in the production and storage of materials.

In the product room we covered the production of capsule products as well as bulk products such as proteins. The special feature was that one floor was for pure protein mixes and then another floor where these mixes were mixed to create multi-ingredient proteins. We were also shown the quality control of the raw materials used and the control of the product produced. And then the best part at the end! We were able to see the production of protein bars, but this is divided into several subgroups of each type. Again, this was a giant sized space and it took us quite a bit of time to go through all of this.

After this excursion, we were reassured that this company is a true giant and they have everything fine-tuned to perfection. They prioritize quality over quantity, and we think our customers will appreciate that these days.
