Vancouver Pro 2022 - fifth professional triumph for Iain Vallier

After a two-year "Covid" hiatus, the Vancouver Pro professional bodybuilding competition returned to Canada. It happened on Sunday, July 17th, and we'll take a look at how the Open category heavyweights fared as they battled it out not only for the win, but also for a direct promotion to the qualifying rankings for this year's Mr. Olympia.

There were only nine competitors on stage, including Chris Buhr, who won his pro card at the Vancouver Pro Qualifier 2022 amateur event.
As for the aforementioned Buhr, he opted to compete despite his weight falling in the 212-pound division. However, that wasn't announced here, so he tried his luck among the heavyweights. This allowed him to meet his coach Iain Vallier on the podium.

The biggest favourites to win the title, and thus qualify for the Olympia in December, were the home fighters, the aforementioned Iain Valliere, and then Antoine Vaillant, who had a drug history.

Both fighters came to the stage well prepared, yet each dazzled with something different. Iain was significantly more powerful, especially in the upper body, and he showed great improvement in muscle density and fullness.

Antoine was a little more subtle than his opponent, but more symmetrical and perfectly conditioned, as his muscles were well separated, sculpted, yet plenty full and hard. As for the posing, it was a joy to watch! He really devoted a lot of time to this area, which was evident in his presentation.

Iain Valliere could finally rejoice in his fifth professional victory, which will be his third time on the podium of the most prestigious bodybuilding competition in the world, Mr. Olympia. Here he will try to fight for an even better position than he managed at the last two editions, in 2020 and 2021, where he took the seventh place.

Second place went to Antoine Vaillant, who scored a really great result considering that he has had to battle his drug addiction several times and is currently struggling with a relatively high calcium score which can mean an increased risk of cardiovascular events!

So it is very likely that we will see him at one of the other upcoming competitions where he will be looking to fight for his second professional win.

Third place was earned by Hossein Kalateh, an Iranian living in Canada. His weight falls in the 212-pound division, in which he scored his first professional win this year, and therefore qualification for 212 Olympia 2022, at the Toronto Pro Supershow 2022.

The pairing of Jonas Giatras and Seth Engman also made the Top 5.
