Vancouver Pro 2019 - the competition was dominated by "only" 100 kg Hadi Choopan!

Vancouver, Canada was the venue for the fifth edition of the Vancouver Pro show on Sunday, July 14, which was held under the banner of the IFBB Jim Manion Professional League.
The stage was given to professional bodybuilders competing in both weight categories, i.e. representatives of the Open category as well as their colleagues with a maximum weight limit of 212 pounds.

OPEN category

Eighteen fighters took the stage, and several of them could be considered candidates for triumph. They were certainly Nathan De Asha, the winner of the recent The Battle of Britain, Samson Dauda, the second man of the mentioned competition, or our own Lukas Osladil, who celebrated victory here last year, and a week ago took a very respectable 4th place at Wings of Strength Chicago.
It was also very closely watched how the representative of the division up to 212 pounds, the Iranian pro Hadi Choopan, who for the first time ever, due to visa requirements, presented himself on the territory of Canada, would perform on the stage.

It's not surprising that all the mentioned fighters, except Samson Dauda, i.e. Lukas Osladil, Hadi Choopan and Nathan De Asha, were selected immediately for the first semi-final comparison, where the judges requested the trio of Quinton Eriya, Iain Valliere and Josh Wade.
The Choopan - Osladil pair posed in the middle of the line and it seemed that these two were fighting for the triumph. Both of them dominated the entire starting field with their excellent forms as well as their best rear positions.

The second semi-final comparison was also interesting, in which the second of the Czechs, Slavoj Bednar, got his chance. He posed in front of the judges in the middle of the line, which together with him consisted of the foursome Samsoun Dauda, Manuel Canadillas, Julio Balestrin and Sibusiso Kotelo. Slavoj fought for a very nice 7th place.

The triumph was finally taken home by Hadi Choopan, who proved his incredible qualities! The "Persian Wolf", as his nickname goes, is at home in both weight categories.
Even among the heavyweights, he did not look subtle at all, and as far as volume is concerned, he was a full-fledged opponent.

Hadi, who besides his impressive bulk also offered a complete physique, quality, mature and perfectly sculpted muscles, qualified for the Mr. Olympia competition!
Due to the fact that the US President's policies make it very difficult for representatives of these countries to obtain the necessary visa to enter the US, there is unfortunately a very low probability that Hadi will participate in the competition at all.

The second place was finally won by Nathan De Asha at the expense of our Lukáš Osladil.

Lukáš Osladil therefore finished third, although he certainly had enough to finish ahead of Nathan. As mentioned above, Lukáš had a very attractive physique, and together with Choopan in the rear positions they crushed the whole starting field.

Fourth to sixth positions were taken by the trio of Iain Valliere, Josh Wade and Quinton Eriya.

A very respectable seventh place went to Slavoj Bednar, who left his Chicago conquerors Samson Dauda and Sibusis Kotel behind!

Categories up to 212 pounds:

There were only four competitors in the under 212lb division, namely Bola Ojex, Zane Watson, Steve Benthin and Prince Boabang. All but Boabang, meanwhile, had already met in Chicago the week before.

The judges had it very easy here, and only needed one single semifinal comparison.
It should be noted that all the contestants were very similar, so any of them could have been the winner.

In the end, the triumph went to the home fighter Zane Watson, who finished fifth in Chicago.

Zane particularly benefited from the symmetry of his physique, the hardness and separation of his muscles, as well as his excellent midriff, which accentuates his nice "X" body shape.

Second place, as in Chicago, went to Bola Ojex. Full, round and hard muscles were his asset. Had he come in as sharp as he did in Chicago, he would have surely taken the triumph.

Third place went to Steve Benthin, and fourth place went to Prince Boabang.

Overall results:

1. Zane Watson - qualified for Olympia 212 Showdown 2019
2. Bola Ojex
3. Steve Benthin
4. Prince Boabang
