Czech Republic Championship 2023 Strongwoman and Studnicky strogman 2023 u105 | Results and reportage

On 16 September 2023, Studnice in the Hradec Králové Region became the centre of all strength sports enthusiasts. It was the first event of its kind in Studnice. The entire competition was held in support of the non-profit organization Asgenet, whose main mission is to connect the world of medicine, science and patients, specifically research into the rare genetic disease Angelman syndrome. It should be added that all the proceeds from the event, namely 20 100 CZK, were donated to Asgenet to support research into this disease. There are never enough good deeds.

The race was divided into two parts. In the morning one, which started at 11:00 a.m., women and girls competed for the title of the Czech Republic Champion. And it was definitely something to watch, some of the female competitors showed performances worthy of strong men. The ladies were divided into two weight categories, up to 80 kg and over 80 kg. The disciplines were the same for both groups.

Strognwoman competed in the following disciplines:

• Press medley
• Car yoke
• Carry medley
• Tyre flip

After sensational performances in the category up to 80 kg, Denisa Bartošová won and certainly enjoyed her first competition. Jindřiška Hejtyková, who came all the way from far away Switzerland, won the category over 80 kg.

In the afternoon the fighters in the category up to 105 kg competed. Again there were amazing performances. In total 9 strogmans competed at the competition.

The men competed in the following disciplines:

• Tyre flip medley
• Press medley
• Car yoke
• Atlas stones

Literally a fight for every point in the end Norbert Švarc won among the men, who confirmed his role as the favourite and used his experience.

The main referee Karel Prášil supervised the regularity of the competition, the correctness of the individual performances, the moderator, a well-known face of the Czech strongman, competitor Mari Zvrtek, conducted the whole event and entertained the audience. From my point of view it was a great competition, which was well prepared and everything went exactly as it should. It's just a pity that we couldn't convince more women to join the race. Despite the potential of strong women's races, our small republic always has only a few female competitors, which quite detracts from the interest of the whole race. So my appeal is to girls, ladies, women... don't be afraid to sign up. Strongman sport, or strongwoman sport is really cool and worth trying.
