Shawn Rhoden has taken two lie detector tests!
Reigning Mr. Olympia titleholder Shawn Rhoden, who was accused Thursday, July 11, of rape and sexual assault he allegedly committed last October 12 on a female fitness competitor during a visit to Utah, is trying to clear his name! To that end, he has taken two lie detector tests!
One on a classic polygraph, the other on an upgraded, even more sensitive polygraph! A polygraph, also known as a lie detector, is a device that measures several physiological variables such as blood pressure, heart rate, respiration, electrical resistance of the skin, the size of the pupil of the eye, etc., while a person is asked a series of questions.
The assumption is that a conscious lie will induce a stressful situation that will manifest itself in a measurable change in the data being monitored.
Both tests reportedly determined, consistently, that Shawn was not lying!
Even though these tests are not taken as 100% evidence in a court of law, they can at least be relied upon a little and take into account that the person took them voluntarily and thus probably has nothing to hide!
If Shawn does indeed turn out to be innocent in the end, it will be very interesting to see how his career develops! It is almost certain that his name is already very tarnished! Not only is he being turned away by AMI, who have banned him from Olympia Weekend, but also by a number of sponsors!
No one took into account the so called presumption of innocence and they immediately took clear and very tough measures! But how will they proceed if Shawn's innocence is proven? Will they be able to clear his name even a little bit?
These are questions that cannot be answered at this time.
However, many fans agree that if Shawn is proven innocent, he should seek financial compensation not only from the accusing party, but also from AMI and others who immediately turned their backs on him without waiting to see how the whole situation would develop!
