Saudi Classic 2022 - the clear winner is Ahmad Ashkanani!

On Saturday 15 January, the first ever Saudi Classic professional competition took place in the Saudi capital Riyadh. The competition, which kicked off this year's Jim Manion IFBB Professional League season, featured just six representatives from the 212lb division, who took to the stage to battle it out for a spot in the 2022 Olympia Weekend.

The competition was accompanied by a lot of organizational issues, and perhaps that's the reason why we don't have an official results list to date, so we have to make do with the scraps, photos and videos available on social media and the YouTube video portal.

The clear favourite for the competition was Ahmad Ashkanani, who boasts a pair of silver finishes from the Olympia 212 Showdown, which he managed to achieve in 2016 and 2017.

Ahmad was the favourite from the start, especially with his volumes, which he used to outperform the rest of the starting field. He deservedly took not only the victory, but of course also the ticket to the Olympia Weekend, where he will perform for the seventh time in a row! In the Olympia 212 Showdown, or rather the new 212 Olympia, he did as follows - 2016 and 2017 - 2nd place, 2018 - 4th place, 2019 and 2020 - 5th place, 2021 - 6th place, which are not bad results at all.

Second place went to Mohammed Alzahmi, making his debut here. Just last year he was competing in the rival federation IFBB.

Third place went to Anwar Albalushi, who made his first professional start here.
