Ronnie Coleman comments on his 800lb deadlift

Ronnie Coleman is considered by many to be one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time and it's no wonder, as this legend managed to win the Mr. Olympia contest eight times in a row between 1998 and 2005! In 1990 he won his first amateur Mr. Texas contest. Ronnie first competed as a professional at the Chicago Pro in 1992, where he finished in 11th place. Throughout his career, Coleman has managed to beat Flex Wheeler, Shawn Ray, Lee Priest and Jay Cutler on the podium.

After his fourth place finish at the 2007 Mr. Olympia, Ronnie retired from professional bodybuilding, but has remained active in the fitness scene to this day. For example, around 1.17 million fans follow this former bodybuilder on his YouTube channel, which is inspired by various videos of Coleman's work. Some of his most watched videos are those of Ronnie performing his legendary 800lb squat or eight reps on the 2300lb leg press, for example.

Although Ronnie was a professional bodybuilder in his personal life, he worked as a police officer

And today we bring you a video in which Ronnie looks back at his deadlift in 2000, during which he managed to pull an incredible 800lbs! It happened five weeks before the Mr. Olympia competitions and Coleman said of the deadlift:

"I wasn't always this strong, but on this day I was fully prepared! My muscles were really good and full. My strength was exactly where I wanted it to be. During those five weeks before the 2000 Olympia, I was as strong as I've ever been!" Coleman said while watching the video

He went on to say that being filmed in training made him feel so much better and gave him a huge motivation to set new personal bests, which is why they are recorded.
