Reebok CrossFit Games 2019 Results - Mathew Fraser & Tia-Clair Toomey win again!

From 31.7.2019 - 4.8.2019 took place the biggest crossfit competitions - Reebok CrossFit Games 2019. For the first time in the history of theCzech Republic had also their charges at these competitions and it was Soňa Karásková and David Stroupek. As you already know, before the Games we informed you about the elimination rounds, after which the number of athletes always decreased. Unfortunately, our athletes Sonia and David didn't even make it through the first competition wod and so they dropped out right at the start - Reebok CrossFit Games 2019 after the first day - how did Sonia Karásková & David Stroupek fare?

Sonia expressed her feelings about the race on her instagram as follows:

Since I started CrossFit in 2014, I've been watching the CrossFit Games every year and I've been thinking, wow, it must be really awesome to be there!!! What must that feel like, too bad I'll never get to experience it...
It's 2019 and I'm suddenly here! I'm not going to write about the feelings you experience when you are part of all this happening now, that's for next time. Just in a nutshell - it's an INCREDIBLE feeling!

What I would like to do now is to describe to you how yesterday went and what it means to me now.
The CrossFit Games are running a new schedule this year, as I'm sure you all know, and we came in with the expectation that 50% of the competitors drop out after the first workout. Which is really harsh, but that's just the way it is. My goal was to break into the top 50 in the world. There was only one thing that mattered and that was what the first WOD was going to be. At the opening ceremony it came up - 4RFT - 400m run, 3 legless rope climbs, 7 snatches. I nearly fainted with joy because they couldn't have come up with anything better! This was a workout just tailor made for me. I was really looking forward to it. We took off, I'm running, cool, I'm thinking, take your time, it's long, cool I'll run to the rope, 1, 2, 3 - no rep...I touched the rope between my thighs before I hit the top mark. I fly down, knock it out and say to myself, I'm a bitch, okay one more rep, I'll be careful. And suddenly I'm climbing and I feel like I can't hold on! I go down, take a longer break and go at it again. And the end...The grip is totally cramping, but how?! I've never experienced that in my life, I don't suffer from it at all, rope is one of my strengths! I'll cut it short....I made about 15 attempts and only got to the snatch at about the 15th minute. That was the end of everything.
I ended up in 82nd place, 75 advanced...

I'm incredibly disappointed, if I dropped out at the HS walkthrough everyone would understand that but this...
Never mind, I have to let it all settle in my head, I'm sad for a while, then I don't care, then I want to cry, well, emotions swing
Anyway, we're staying here until Monday, we're going to enjoy it from a spectator position and I'll try to bring you as much as possible the atmosphere of the GAMES, which are simply the best thing that can happen in CrossFit.
Thank you all so much for your support, I've had hundreds of messages coming in and I'm so

Slovak athletes

Our Slovak neighbours are celebrating a great success! The young athlete Matúš Kočár finished in an amazing 2nd place in his category (boys 16-17 years old)! Karin Freyová came in a stunning 22nd position. And finally, Erik Thot finished 59th in the men's category !

I dreamed about this four years and the dream become reality this year. This year i qualified for the first time to the biggest world wide competition the Reebok Crossfit games 2019. After qualification i set the goal, but during the first event i failed , which cost me points and then was too hard for take place in top 20. I dont think that the first event belonged between my weakness, but the rope which i trained was different, that was the reason why my ranking in this workout was so bad. So 22th place in the world this year is reasonably. I m little bit disappointed but it could be worse.. Nevertheless BIG Thanks to my coach @mikkosalo63 who prepare my very well for everything and who is my biggest support. My friends (especially @pavelfrajdt and @rado.ivan always with me), familly, people who support me and also @thesystembymikko @alphaprimecrossfit @powergearseurope @powerwearshop @niketraining which always stand by me. THANK YOU! ❤️ #getwhatyouearn #crossfitgames2019 #emotional #physical #test #keepfocus #details #choice #preparedness #standby #go #noplaceformistakes #slovakathletes ??

Most CrossFit fans were betting on Mathew Fraser in the main men's category, as he has won the Reebok CrossFit Games 3 times in a row. However, the big surprise and concern came from athlete Noah Ohlson, who managed to dominate the overall rankings table from Friday to Saturday, relegating Mathew to second position! The last workout was to decide who would become this year's Games champion! With a lot of grit and determination, Mathew Fraser eventually beat Noah to earn his 4th win at the Reebok CrossFit Games! On the other hand, Tia-Clair Toomey calmly dominated the women's category to claim her 3rd consecutive victory at this biggest CrossFit competition in the world!
