Patrick Moore is back in training after Achilles heel surgery!
This October marks a year since we last saw Patrick Moore on the competition stage. He finished 10th at Legion Sports Fest 2021, which was certainly not his goal. He subsequently took a racing sabbatical to improve his shortcomings. However, Patrick outlined late last year that he would most likely not return to the open division, but to the classic physique category.
"What if the comeback wasn't for open......what if it was for classic physique? What if I cared more about my condition, lines and aesthetics than size? What if I took all that time to break down muscle and change categories? Stranger things have happened...?"

But in April this year, Moore suffered an Achilles tendon injury. Moore's social media presence has decreased significantly over the past few months. This has led to speculation about his potential retirement or a longer break from the sport. In an attempt to end this speculation once and for all, Patrick Moore recently posted a lengthy message on Instagram explaining his Achilles tendon injury. The IFBB Pro bodybuilder admitted that his first reaction to the injury was shock. However, he was able to overcome it and made a full recovery.
"I'll never forget the feeling I had when I was told my Achilles had ruptured. I remember trying to hold back the tears because it was the first time I had suffered an injury... that's how hard it was.
My first thought: My career is over and I haven't reached my peak yet!
It took a few days to even get over the initial shock of what happened. I was used to being a person who could do anything I wanted, and now I couldn't even walk. Mentally, it was one of the hardest weeks I've ever had... the feeling that I would never be able to do what I loved.
I didn't talk because I didn't need or want attention or anything to distract me from coming back. Now 14 weeks after surgery, it feels so amazing to be back to almost 100%. The fact is that unexpected storms always come, but they eventually pass and you have to make sure you are prepared! You owe it to yourself to get back on track if you get knocked down!" wrote Patrick under his Instagram post, which he posted on 8/18/2022
