New Zealand Pro 2018 - results

Ackland, New Zealand on Saturday 24 March was the venue for this year's Jim Minion's IFBB New Zealand Pro League, which gave an opportunity to fighters competing in the 212lb division.

There were a total of nine of these fighters, many of whom we don't see on the competition stage that often due to their issues with vice travel to the USA where most of these events are held.

There were several favourites to win here, whether it was the experienced Sami Al Hahhad, Samir Troudi, who scored a great third place finish at this year's Arnold Classic, or Jafar Ghaffar Nezhad, who made his debut among the heavyweights on the Arnold Classic Australia stage a week ago, where he finished ninth.

It was the above three who met on stage immediately during the first semi-final comparison, where Babak Akbarnia, Fahad Zaid and Haitham Al Zadjali posed alongside them.

The trio of Haddad, Troudi and Nezhad were also part of the last semi-final comparison, where the winner was decided.

This was Jafar Ghaffar Nezhad in his debut start among the pros. The fighter, who impressed with his balanced and symmetrical physique, qualified for this year's Olympia 212 Showdown. However, whether he will actually show up there is in the stars, given the above, that is, the problems with the allocation of visas necessary to travel to the USA.

The second place went to the already experienced Sami al Haddad. He too possesses a symmetrical figure. Perhaps, in terms of arm volume, he was slightly behind the winner.

Third place went to Samir Troudi. He was more than a match for his opponent, and had no major weaknesses.

It should be noted that the above mentioned fighters were so evenly matched that even if they had swapped their finishing positions, no one would have objected.

Babak Akbarnia finished fourth, and Haitham Al Zadjali of Osman managed to break into the Top 5 on his debut.
