New York Pro 2019 - Milan Šádek won fantastic 3rd place!!
New York's Westchester County Multi-Purpose Center was the venue for the next edition of the traditional New York Pro competition on Saturday, May 18, held under the banner of the IFBB Jim Manion Professional League. It has been making its history since 1978, when it was called Night of Champions until 2005.
Once again, as has been the custom for many years, the organizers announced both men's categories, and so both the heavyweights from the Open category and their smaller and lighter counterparts from the 212lb division were on stage.
Open category
As you know from us, our very own Milan Šádek was also present at the competition, and he was not only there to measure his muscularity and fitness against seventeen other fighters, but also to try to improve on his 7th place finish last year.
The semi-final itself indicated that he was very close to his goal, as Milan appeared immediately in the first semi-final comparison! In that he posed alongside such illustrious names as Juan Morel, Akim Williams and Jonathan Delarosa. In addition to them, Luis Rodriguez and James Hollingshead also posed.
The judges played around with the aforementioned six, flipping their positions in the line in various ways. According to the final line-up, it was obvious that Juan Morel and Akim Williams were fighting for the triumph, while Milan Šádek was fighting for a great third place with Jonathan Delarosa.
The first semi-final comparison
Juan Morel finally took his sixth career win from the podium, offering not only solid volumes but also very good final preparation. He thus continued his success from 2015, when he also swept the New York show.
The extra powerful Akim Williams finished second. His muscles seemed to want to burst as they were so full. Unfortunately though, they lacked hardness and separation. But we've gotten used to that with Akim.
Fantastic third place was won by our Milan Šádek! He continued his success from 2017, when he also finished third here, but in the division up to 212 pounds.
Although Milan was losing to his competitors in terms of volume, he outshined all of them with his readiness! Many of the attendees even talked about the fact that according to Milan one could learn muscle anatomy, what a perfect separation and sculpting of muscles he had!

Fourth place went to Jonathan Delarosa, with Luis Rodriguez making it into the top 5.

Categories up to 212 pounds
The under 212lb division was much busier with 26 fighters taking the stage. The favorites to win were Kuwait's Ahmad Ashkanani and Brazil's Eduardo Correa, who returned to the competition podium after a three-year hiatus.
In the end, Ahmad Ashkanani won, but not deservedly according to many. Although he offered excellent upper body volumes, the lower half of the body was rather below average. Moreover, his form was not what we are used to.
Second was Eduardo Correa. Even his lower limbs were not among the best on the stage, but his form clearly was! Not only the amount of detail, but also the excellent muscle separation adorned this fighter. Why the judges finally "relegated" him to second place is a mystery to many present.
The third place went to Kerrith Bajjo, who was in the form of his life, and thus scored the result of his life. A major weakness that he will certainly have to address in the future is gynaecomastia.
Fourth place was earned by Korean Kim Jun Ho, who looks really fantastic even at 50 years old! His form, symmetry and eye-pleasing presentation overshadowed many of the fighters a generation younger.
The German Steve Benthin, who has prepared a very good form for this event, also made it into the Top 5.
