"My transplanted kidney is failing," Flex Wheeler revealed his current medical condition

In 1994, Wheeler was involved in a car accident. He was subsequently diagnosed by doctors with hereditary kidney disease. Nine years later, Flex was forced to undergo a transplant. But in 2019, due to serious complications from blood clots and kidney failure, doctors decided to partially amputate Wheeler's right leg.

I would like to thank all my fans and fellow bodybuilding fans for your prayers and support during this difficult time for me and my family. The surgery was necessary due to escalating circulatory problems in my right leg that became life threatening.I am now resting comfortably and have begun rehabilitation.I would also like to thank my excellent medical team for their treatment and care.

Wheeler recently joined The Menace Podcast on the Muscle and Fitness YouTube channel to discuss his current condition. He provided a full health update, including some of the issues that have been found in his kidney.

He has contracted some type of GI infection. I started having diarrhea for four days straight and then I was constipated. Since I am a kidney transplant patient, dehydration is not safe for me, which then caused my kidney to start having problems.

Now it's a problem with my kidneys because they are really unstable. My numbers are extremely unstable. They scheduled me for a kidney biopsy to go in because the kidney is 20 years old. The average kidney doesn't last more than seven years, that's the average life of a kidney.
