Milan Šádek in an interview for iSport.cz

Milan Šádek is not only a good bodybuilder, but also a professional athlete, husband, father and last but not least a great person. It is very interesting to watch his admirable performance growth, which is not stopping. At the moment he is preparing for the IFBB NEW YORK PRO, which is already a legendary professional bodybuilding competition. You can find out what feelings he leaves for New York with and what his form was like 3 weeks before the contest in the video report.

It's a long way to the very top of professional bodybuilding. In the interview, the athlete revealed, among other things, how his last days before the competition are going, how he eats and how he copes with the difficult period of dehydration. The fact that he trains up to 12 times a week proves that he is 100% up to it.

How did it all start?

Milan Šádek started working out at the age of 12, when he went to the gym with his dad. At 13, he took it a little more seriously and tried his first competition, the Czech Republic Youth Championships. Even then he came second. Subsequently, he won twice and became Czech champion. In 2007-2009 he competed among juniors and brought back two silver medals from the World Championships.

After that he took a break for school, but he never stopped training and in 2012 he competed for the first time in the European Championships among adults, where he finished fifth in the category up to 100 kg. In 2013 he went to the USA to compete in the Arnold Classic Amateur and despite health problems he came seventh. In 2014 he won the Olympia Amateur and was awarded his professional license. A year later Milan completed his first competition in the pro division. It was the EVLS Prague PRO and he managed to place fifth in the under 212lb category. A week later he competed in Phoenix, Arizona at the Europa Phoenix Pro in the Open, where he placed 7th. In 2016 he won the IFBB Charlotte Pro and qualified for the 2017 IFBB 212 Olympia Showdown. Milan's 6th place finish at the 2017 Olympia Weekend can be considered one of the best achievements in Czech professional bodybuilding.

What's next?

After the IFBB NEW YORK PRO he will compete at the Los Angeles California Pro a week later. But he is well aware that he cannot be a bodybuilder forever. In the interview he also revealed his future prospects.

And who supports him in the most difficult moments? His family, his coach, his hobbies and, last but not least, his hearty diet. And thanks to the poultry factory in Klatovy, he is well taken care of. In conclusion, he gives hope to all those who are still thinking about working out: it is never too late to start, the main thing is to have the determination and the right coach.
