Legion Sports Fest Pro 2021 | Reportage

On Sunday 24th October, the American state of Nevada belonged to the bodybuilders who compete in the IFBB Jim Manion Professional League in the Open category. There was an event called Legion Sports Fest Pro 2021, where they fought for the qualification for Mr. Olympia 2022.

A total of 17 fighters took the stage, including participants from the recently held Olympia Weekend. Sergio Oliva Jr., Regan Grimes, Max Charles, Cedric McMillan and Patrick Moore, who fought in the Mr. Olympia 2021, as well as Shaun Clarida and Tonio Burton, who fought in the 212 Olympia 2021, presented their forms.

Much to their surprise, both representatives of the lighter weight class were immediately selected for the first semi-final comparison, in which they were joined by Sergio Oliva Jr., Regan Grimez, Joe Seeman and Martin Fitzwater.

Shaun Clarida, Sergio Oliva Jr. and Regan Grimez were a far cry from the rest of the starting field in terms of form. Especially Clarida, who last year was the king of the division up to 212 poundsand this year finished second, was not lost among the real heavyweights at all, on the contrary! Every single one of them, despite his 157 cm and less than 80 kg, he beat in any pose! He had a lot of details, his muscles were incredibly full, hard, separated, and unlike the others, also maximally mature!

Legion Sports Fest Pro 2021 - První semifinálové porovnávání

Shaun Clarida, who is very often called "the bodybuilder in the pocket", really won his debut in the Open category with an absolutely sensational victory!

Clarida himself was sometimes nicknamed "The Giant Killer". In the past, Lee Priest, for example, also bore this name, but he was a regular among the heavyweights, and was regularly among the best! It was for this reason that Lee said to Clarida that until he defeats the representatives of the Open category, he should not be proud of this nickname!

However.... Clarida proved it this past Sunday, and as he stated after the semifinal bouts, he is a "Giant Killer"!

I am the "Giant Killer"! I'm in seventh heaven with what's going on right now. It looks like I'm fighting for a top 3 finish in my Open debut! But the work isn't over yet. I still have one more round to go!

He qualified for the next edition of Mr. Olympia! We are under no illusions that he will have a chance for any significant result there, but it will still be interesting to see which of the competitions he decides to compete in. Will he try again at 212 Olympia, or will he give it a shot at Mr. Olympia, where he may never qualify again, and just get up there for the feeling of being one of the few bodybuilders who ever made it!

The second place went to Regan Grimes, who, thanks to his cooperation with Milos Sarchev, was in the best shape of his life! His muscles were hard and full, and he topped it all off with an absolutely superb pose!

The third place went to Sergio Oliva Jr., who presented himself here in a slightly worse form than he did at Olympia.

Tonio Burton earned a very respectable fourth place from the judges in his debut start among the heavyweights. He originally wanted to give himself a year's volume after his start at 212 Olympia 2021, after which he would have been permanently ensconced in the Open category. So he took this weekend's event as an experience only. And as you can see, it wasn't a bad idea at all.

Rounding out the Top 5 was Martin Fitzwater, who has worked on his form since his debut at the Texas Pro 2021. He may have dropped one place here, but on the other hand he had much stronger competition!

Then the performance of 2017 Arnold Classic winner Cedric McMillan ended in a complete fiasco! He competed in his absolute worst form, as his muscles lacked fullness and detail, and on the contrary, deformities from various injuries stood out.
He didn't even make it to the final bout, after the semi-finals he made a short but very pertinent

Well it's official... I suck!
