Lee Haney, eight-time Mr. Olympia winner, talks about his Sandow statue collection

One of the most significant figures in the history of bodybuilding is undoubtedly Lee Haney, a living legend of the sport.

The eight-time Mr. Olympia winner invites us into his home via the video below. Not to show us his butterfly collection, but to show off his impressive collection of eight Sandow statues.
The statue of Eugene Sandow, the father of modern bodybuilding, belongs only to the winners of the most prestigious competition in the world!

In the video, Lee talks with a smile about how he only ended up with eight triumphs because I couldn't fit any more of them above the fireplace where all his statues are displayed.
He goes on to say that dominating the world's most prestigious competition was a miracle in itself. After he succeeded he told himself that he would like to walk away as the winner three times in a row. When he succeeded, he set another benchmark, namely five wins in a row. Sergio Oliva and Frank Zane already had three triumphs under their belts at the time.

He managed to achieve this goal as well, so it was time for the next milestone, which was seven triumphs in a row. He would surpass the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger. He had triumphed at the Mr. Olympia competition seven times, but "only" six times in a row.

Well, he did that too. He wanted to quit at that time, but his wife had the last word and told him that he was definitely capable of winning for the eighth time. And it was true! Lee Haney won eight consecutive editions of the Mr. Olympia competition, making an indelible mark not only in the history of this competition, but in the history of bodybuilding in general.

He met Dorian Yates on the podium at the last edition. According to Haney, the latter brought something to the competition stage that had not been seen before, namely monstrous volumes.
Lee figured that people already wanted to see something new rather than narrow waists, vacuums and symmetrical figures. And so he bid farewell to competitive bodybuilding, and he did so as an undefeated champion!

As we now know, Dorian managed to dominate the next six editions of this competition.

Lee Haney and his collection of eight Eugene Sandow statues:

What do you think of this legend? Would Lee have the skills to dominate another edition of Mr. Olympia? Or did he do well to end his competitive career as an undefeated champion?
