"Is it really worth it for the $15 trophies?" Trudel talks about the problems in bodybuilding
Dante Trudel is a mainstay of 90's bodybuilding. He was widely recognized for his balanced proportions and uninterrupted work ethic whenever he trained in the gym. During his time in bodybuilding Trudel trained with some very high quality athletes such as Nasser El Sonbaty. However, he eventually decided to take a step away from his athletic career and focus on his family and business.

During a recent Instagram video, Trudel seriously explains that all of his training partners from the 90s have passed away. He also mentioned that athletes in the 90s took a third of the steroids compared to those today. Dante believes that there are more lucrative opportunities available for bodybuilders than ever before. He added that only the top eight bodybuilders in the world make an adequate living in this sport.
"Curtis died at 36. Anthony D'Arezzo died at 44. Mike Matarazzo had a heart attack at 39, died at 48. Tom Prince had kidney failure at 35 and died a few months ago from health problems. Phil Hernon got sick early from kidney failure and died of health problems. Nasser El Sonbaty died at 47. Nobody dies in natural bodybuilding. Is it really worth it for vanity? You give up years of your life for a $15 trophy. I don't understand.
Only eight of the best bodybuilders in the world make money bodybuilding. If you look at the top backers who are financially successful in bodybuilding today, most of them have quickly wised up and gone to YouTube and other social media where the money is." said Dante Trudel .
