"I'll remember his positive energy," Phil Heath pays tribute to Cedric McMillan

On Tuesday night, the news went around the bodybuilding world that competitor Cedric McMillan has left our community for the eternal hunting grounds. Just like the death of every other bodybuilder, this one went very deep into the hearts of everyone who knew Cedric. Although everyone is debating that McMillan died due to anabolic steroid use, current information is that it was a ruptured stomach ulcer.

Even before the start of the 2022 Arnold Classic, Cedric was talking about having major stomach issues that made it difficult for him to prepare for competitions. And that's one of the reasons he didn't enter the AC.

Immediately after this event, all of Cedric's friends paid tribute to his memory, reminiscing about their time together and trying to hint at what this competitor brought to bodybuilding as a whole. One of those was Phil Heath.

"I'm still in shock over the death of Cedric McMillan yesterday. My heart definitely hurts, but I feel it's important to consider him the amazing man he was to me and others.

When I first met Ced, it was great because I found him to have a character that I felt deserved to win many top championships.

Ced was usually the one who had no qualms about making jokes, so we all lightened up a bit. Seeing him compete and share the stage together was no doubt great, but I will remember his positive energy no matter what adversity he faced.

Ced, my heart hurts, but I know that God makes no mistakes and even though I'm upset that you're not with us, I know you've instilled something positive in us!!!!

My condolences to your family and friends. May we one day be able to joke, lift and laugh."

Those who can speak English can watch the video below where Phil talks a lot more about McMillan.
