"I have one year left," Big Ramy is planning on quitting!
The current king in bodybuilding is Egyptian pro Mamdouh 'Big Ramy' Elssbiay. He won the Mr. Olympia back in 2020 and extended his reign last year by winning the Olympia again. In this year's edition, it remains to be seen whether this Egyptian colossus can succeed again at the biggest show in the world or if he and someone will break his winning streak. Either way, we can look forward to another Big Ramy performance early this December.
The big question, however, is how long Elssbiay can stay at the top of professional bodybuilding. Due to the frequent deaths in the sport, there has been a lot of discussion about the health of bodybuilders and at what age they should retire. And it is this question that Big Ramy has dealt with, or at least he hinted at it in a recent interview with the RWA Podcast. It seems that the defending Mr. Olympia titleholder is planning to retire next year.

"I decided from the beginning that I was going to quit bodybuilding at 38. My kids keep asking me about it, I tell them that thirty-eight hasn't come yet. When it comes, we'll talk.
I don't know what I'm going to do after I'm thirty-eight, but this is something I decided a long time ago. I'm thirty-seven years old, one more year to go." Big Ramy said in a recent interview.
What do you think, will "Big Ramy" really call it a career next year or will he continue racing?
