Giant slayer Shaun Clarida on a brutal arm workout in preparation for Olympia Weekend 2022!

American professional bodybuilder Shaun Clarida is one of those fighters who are preparing for this year's Olympia Weekend, the biggest event in the world of bodybuilding and fitness.

As the winner of the 2020 Olympia 212 Showdown, Shaun is qualified for both the 212-pound weight limit contest, 212 Olympia 2022, and thanks to his triumph among the heavyweights at last year's Legion Sports Fest Pro 2021, Mr. Olympia 2022!

He's been campaigning all this season with the Olympia Weekend management to be able to stand on the podium at both events, something no one has been able to do to date, and the current rules don't even allow for that possibility. The rules clearly state that a competitor can only compete in one Olympia Weekend event.

But Shaun is not giving up his fight.

Many are convinced that Clarida will eventually decide to compete in the Mr. Olympia contest, because standing on the stage of the most prestigious competition in the world is the dream of absolutely every bodybuilder, Shaun included.

Considering the fact that he has already won the Olympia in the under 212lb division and therefore does not have to strive for it, many consider his entry in the open category a certainty.

Others, however, believe that Shaun will be on the podium at Olympia in the under 212lb division, as he has a great chance to defend his 2020 triumph here this year. In all likelihood, last year's winner Derek Lunsford, who has just received an invitation to compete at Mr. Olympia 2022, will not be competing here!

Shaun Clarida himself says of all this speculation:

I have not disclosed, nor have I decided whether I will be competing in the U212 or Open division at Olympia. And the possibility of competing in both categories is still on the table as I await the final decision of the IFBB and the commission.
