Would Arnold Schwarzenegger be successful in contemporary bodybuilding? Many believe so!

Would Michael Jordan be as good as LeBron James if he were playing now? That's a question that no one knows the answer to and can only be speculated. Some will argue that he definitely is! Others will say no. It's the same in bodybuilding when you broach the subject of whether the bodybuilders of yesteryear could compete with the bodybuilders of today. In bodybuilding, the subject immediately transitions to Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is perhaps the most famous bodybuilder in the world.

Every great bodybuilder of his time set a trend that was constantly evolving and shifting. If we were to look at pictures of today's bodybuilders, such as Nick Walker, and the earlier competitors, we would conclude that today's bodybuilders are truly monsters compared to those of yesteryear. However, many people think that the line that bodybuilding has gone beyond has been crossed too far and the trend should go back again.

If we think about all this, the question then arises whether it is possible to compare the bodybuilders of the past with those of today and whether there was a better bodybuilder before or today. Alternatively, how would earlier bodybuilders, for example Arnold Schwarzenegger for example, succeed on the competition scene today.

In a recent podcast, Joe Rogan talked about how he not only thinks Arnold would be competitive with today's competitors, but he thinks he was and is the best bodybuilder in history.

"A lot of these guys are really tired after this stuff (doping). You have to imagine that you're straining every muscle in your body and you're dehydrated. But when you look back at Arnold, you don't see anything like that. They say he couldn't compete with today's bodybuilders, but I honestly think he looked better. He really did. He looks bloody fantastic. He looks like a super strong giant of a man."
