The key to winning Mr. Olympia 2025 is not size, but extreme definition

The world of bodybuilding is already looking forward to the fight for the Mr. Olympia 2025 title. The reigning champion Samson Dauda is considered one of the biggest favourites, but legendary coach and bodybuilder Milos Sarchev is sending him a clear message. According to him, the way to defend the title is not through gaining more mass, but through perfect and uncompromising form.

Daud's dilemma: More muscle or more detail?

Samson Dauda, who triumphed at Mr. Olympia in 2024, is known for his imposing physique and symmetry. In the off-season, his weight is over 136 kg (300 pounds), which gives him tremendous bulk. However, Milos Sarcev warns that this quest for maximum size may ultimately be counterproductive.

"Samson doesn't need to get any bigger," says Šarčev. "His job now is to bring a form to the stage that will take everyone's breath away. He needs to focus on maximum hardness and muscle definition."

According to Sharchev, Daud's size and symmetry are already at a winning level, but his readiness on the day of the competition will determine the title.

A challenge on behalf of Hadi Choopan

Sharchev also points to the competition, particularly Hadi Choopan, who is known for his extremely "lanky" physique. It is the ability to achieve a similar level of muscular maturity and definition that he believes will be key for Dauda.

"The question is whether Samson can be as chiseled as Hadi. If so, he will be almost unbeatable," Sharchev said.

The world's most prestigious bodybuilding competition, Mr. Olympia 2025, will take place from October 9-12 in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will be interesting to see if Samson Dauda takes Milos Sarchev's advice to heart and brings the form to the podium that will ensure his title defence.
