Terrick El Guindy and Chris Cormier believe Wesley Vissers can beat Chris Bumstead at this year's Olympia!

There is considerable doubt surrounding Chris Bumstead's ability to stay on top in the Classic Physique division in October. In a recent Prime Time Muscle podcast, Terrick El Guindy and Chris Cormier warned that Cbum is one injury away from never competing again. They also discussed his battle at this year's Olympia with Wesley Vissers. After five years of utter dominance in the Classic Physique division, a chink appears to have appeared in the armor of Chris Bumstead, who leads as the most successful athlete to emerge from the division.

Additionally, the rise of Wesley Vissers this season has many fans questioning whether Cbum can retain the title in the coming months. His physique and powerful front poses could spell trouble for the dominant champion, a problem shared by El Guindy and Cormier. According to El Guindy and Cormier, Bumstead's susceptibility to injury could spell the end of his reign later this year.

Cormier adds that Bumstead is probably feeling the impact of his injuries now more than ever.

"Lee Haney didn't have those injuries. Lee Haney had the smoothest career of anyone I've ever known, and yet Terrick didn't mention the hamstring tears and quadriceps injuries that led to these Olympics,"

Although Bumstead has found success against such names as Wesley Vissers and Ramon Queiroz, El Guindy believes "Dutch Oak" could find success at the 2024 Classic Physique Olympia by overpowering Cbum in a front double biceps pose.

"Chris Bumstead beat all these fighters last year including your boy Wesley Vissers, Ramon, Urs and Breon, and he had injuries. The year before last he looked unbelievable, he was in perfect shape and he had an injury. He's gotten away from those guys a little bit, but I think he's one injury away from either wrapping it up or losing because his body is getting beat up."

At the 2024 Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio, this man (Wesley Visssers) not only surprised the world with his conditioning when he beat Ramon Dino, but for the first time since the beginning of the Cbum era, we see a man who can overpower him. According to Cormier, if Vissers hopes to have incredible success, he needs to be in the best shape of his life for the 2024 Classic Physique Olympia.

"He's got better biceps than Chris, doesn't he? And he's got better double back biceps than Chris, right? So that's a problem for Chris,"

shares Chris Cormier.

"If Wesley's not going to be in tip-top best shape of his life, better than he was at the Arnold Classic, then it's all for nothing."

Bumstead has made it clear that he intends to perform at his absolute best on the podium in less than three months. In addition to talking about his mentality and game plan, he teased a possible test against Derek Lunsford in the Open division in 2025.
