Slovak five-time European champion has bounced back from the bottom and is training again!
The story of Slovak bodybuilder Adam Cibulá, five-time European champion and holder of two bronze medals at the World Championships, is reminiscent of a roller coaster ride. After years at the top, he fell to the bottom. Now, however, it looks like things are turning around for the better.
A fall in the street
A year ago, the situation was critical. The Slovak Spectator wrote that Cibuľa, a native of Hnúšt', had been living on the streets for several years and had long ago pawned his valuable medals in order to eat. At the time, the bodybuilder himself described his situation in harsh words.

"When we divorced, my wife threw me out on the street. I have been homeless ever since. I can't play sports, I don't have food and nobody will employ me because I'm pushing 60. I have a hard life," Slovak Spectator quoted the Slovak Spectator as saying.
Even after a year, the situation has not improved.
"The former Slovak bodybuilding champion Adam Cibulja is homeless,"
the Plus TV video platform posted on Facebook in August. His despair was confirmed by the server cas.sk:
"We are outside, I slept on the concrete, I don't know what will happen in winter."
Unexpected help and new hope
But a few weeks later, in October, a turning point came. The server sport24.pluska.sk reported that Cibulá was looking forward to better times and might even be preparing for a return to the competition podium.
"The strong story of the native of Hnúšt' has recently attracted the interest of the presenter Vilo Rozboril, who is known for helping people in need on his show. Even the famous Czech wrestler Karlos Vémola, who plays the role of a sponsor, has lent a hand," writes sport24.pluska.sk.
Thanks to this support, the former bodybuilder moved to a small apartment in Rimavská Sobota and returned to training under the guidance of his former coach Dusan Ďubek. Moderator Rozboril commented on his transformation as follows:
"More people wrote to me asking why I was going to help this alcoholic. But the truth is that since Karlos Vémola has significantly improved his financial situation, Adam is working on himself every day," Rozboril was quoted by sport24.pluska.sk.
If Adam Cibuľa, who recently turned 61, perseveres in his efforts, we may see him on the bodybuilding stage again. His story is proof that even from the most difficult moments you can find your way back.
