Michal Križo recovering after successful surgery on two torn tendons in his shoulder

Michal Križo operace

Michal Križo showed up at the 2024 Empro Classic Pro and did not disappoint. On his way to a third place finish, he faced some of the sport's top contenders, including William Bonac (former two-time Arnold Classic champion) and Behrooz Tabani. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned for Michal Križo, and he shared an update on his Instagram following shoulder surgery. Originally, Križo made it clear that he wanted to show up at the EVLS Prague Pro 2024 in order to qualify early for Mr. Olympia 2025, but due to his ongoing recovery efforts, he will not be able to fulfill that commitment.

He recently confirmed that his training has been extremely limited of late and revealed that he has been dealing with two torn tendons in his shoulder all year. His last competition is all the more impressive because he completed it with an injury. Fortunately, those issues seem to have been resolved, but the healing process will remain Kriz's top priority before he commits to another bodybuilding show in 2025.

The surgery was successful and it's time to recover

Michal recently underwent a successful shoulder surgery, during which doctors discovered that he had been tearing two tendons for over a year. After the surgery, he will have a recovery period that will take approximately 8-12 weeks, but he is expected to make a full recovery. Fortunately, this problem was resolved in time, as continuing to train with damaged tendons could have had serious consequences. He is expected to improve significantly by 2025 as he has not been able to train fully for a long time.

Michal Kriz's doctor also took to Instagram to provide post-operative information and said that he is feeling fine after the surgery.

"Successful surgery today at @medican_clinic MUDr.Kuchta at @ifbb_pro_michalkrizokrizanek only complex rehabilitation in @proclinictrnava? The most successful Slovak bodybuilder ? Križo feels very well after surgery ...."

Even though Michal Križo is already thinking about next year, the 2024 bodybuilding season is not over yet. With minimal opportunities for competitors in the Men's Open category to qualify, the pressure is mounting on those who have not yet secured a spot at Mr. Olympia in October. Among the bodybuilders who have yet to qualify is Hunter Labrada, who many believe will punch his ticket by winning the Promuscle Italy Pro 2024.

Michal Križo will be missing from the stage at Mr. Olympia 2024, which celebrates its 60th anniversary in Las Vegas (Nevada) from October 10-13. Fortunately, Križo is on the road to a full recovery and plans to return in 2025 better than ever!
