Mamdouh "Big Ramy" Elssbiay 14 days before Arnold Classic 2023

Mamdouh "Big Ramy" Elssbiay is a two-time winner of the Mr. Olympia competition, having won the title for the world's best bodybuilder twice in a row, in 2020 and 2021.

Many former and current top bodybuilders have predicted a great future for him, and even eight-time Mr. Olympia titleholder Ronnie Coleman himself has said of "Big Ramy" that he may be the one to surpass him in the number of triumphs.

Just to remind you that Ronnie, who ruled professional bodybuilding without interruption from 1998 to 2005, shares the first place with Lee Haney, who won the title of the best bodybuilder on the planet from 1984 to 1991.

Mamdouh, however, as we now know, went down in flames at the last Olympia, having to settle for fifth place, with Bramdon Curry in fourth place, Nick Walker, who took third place, ahead of him, andlast season's representative of the 212lb division, Derek Lunsford, who took a great second place, and of course "The Persian Wolf" Hadi Choopan, who took the Mr. Olympia!

"Big Ramy" will certainly not catch Ronnie, at least in terms of uninterrupted wins in a row. According to many, given last year's result, and considering his age, he can't even manage that anymore. There is even talk that this was the beginning of the end for him.

A large part of the reason for the above failure is his health problems, where certain muscle parts, especially his hamstrings, lower back and triceps, are not getting enough blood flow, which means they are atrophying, losing volume and creating "deaf" spots.
However, Elssbiay himself is not giving up, he started therapy immediately after Olympia, even undergoing stem cell treatment.

The treatment, according to his own words, is bearing fruit, and as soon as he received an invitation to participate in this year's Arnold Classic, which is the second most prestigious competition in the world of bodybuilding after Olympia, he did not hesitate and accepted it. He certainly considers it as a kind of opportunity to improve his reputation, which received quite a big scratch with his placing in December.

Below, you can see the form this colossus has had just two weeks before he takes to the stage, where he will be met by the likes of Nick Walker and Samson Dauda, who are considered by many to be the main contenders for victory.
