Kužel's "last ride" started with an absolute triumph at the European Cup!

In our recent article we reported that the legend of Czech bench press, Vlastimil Kužel, after more than thirty years in the gym, decided to end his rich competitive career at the age of 47. The reasons he gave were stagnation of performance and a body worn out by hard training. But Vlasta does not intend to retire quietly. On the contrary - his announced "last ride" began in a way that took everyone's breath away!

At the XPC 2025 European Cup Vlastimil Kužel gave an absolutely dominant performance and showed that he still belongs to the absolute top. He took an incredible collection of gold medals from this competition, winning everything he competed in:

• 1st place in the OPEN category up to 125 kg
• 1st place in the MASTERS category up to 125 kg
• Absolute winner of the Masters category
• Absolute winner of the Open category
• Absolute winner across all categories

His performance on the bench press was equally impressive. He registered 240 kg with his basic attempt. After that, he failed with 250 kg due to a technical error (lifted butt), but he made up for everything with a last, easy attempt at 252.5 kg, which confirmed his sovereignty. He added with a smile:

"For the first time in my life, I started at 9.30am and it was no big deal." Despite the unusual time, he managed to put in a phenomenal performance.

The last ride is not over, on the contrary, it is gaining momentum

But this triumph is only the first stop on his farewell tour. Vlastimil is preparing for a series of world championships, where he wants to close his career in style. His fans will be able to watch him at the following prestigious events:

• October 12 - WUAP World Championships | Nitra, Slovakia
• Oct. 25 - GPC World Championship | Balneario Camboriu, Brazil
• 2. 11. - IPL World Championship | Buenos Aires, Argentina
• 15 Nov - GPA World Championship | Corrientes, Argentina

Vlastimil Kužel may be heading towards the end of his career, but his results show he is going out on an absolute high. His "last ride" promises to be a spectacular show and we will be eager to see what other successes this legendary strongman can claim before he hangs up his racing jersey for good
