Joseph Baena Showed He's in Top Form Ahead of His Next Competition! Arnold's Son Reports Significant Progress

Just a few years ago, Joseph Baena was known to most fitness fans primarily as the son of one of the greatest bodybuilding legends. The resemblance to Arnold Schwarzenegger was unmistakable, but one important question remained unanswered: Could he make a name for himself on the competition stage as well?

This past spring, he began to answer that question. And according to his latest post, he’s now preparing for the next chapter of his bodybuilding career.

Baena Showed Off His Current Form and Reported Progress

On October 24, Baena posted a short posing video on Instagram in which he showcased his current physique. According to the information shared, there are approximately two weeks left until his next competition. He also expressed satisfaction with the current state of his preparation.

Based on his own assessment, he is in a significantly better position than he was two weeks before his previous competition. This is his subjective assessment. Based on the available information, it is not possible to objectively determine by how much his muscle mass, body fat, or competition readiness have changed. Baena has not yet publicly confirmed the name of the competition or the category in which he plans to compete.

A Bodybuilding Debut That Caught Everyone’s Attention

Baena made his competitive bodybuilding debut on March 28, 2026, at the NPC Natural Colorado State Championships in Denver. And his debut was a great success. He won the Men’s Open Bodybuilding Heavyweight division and also took first place in the Classic Physique True Novice and Classic Physique Novice divisions.

He placed second in the Classic Physique Class C open division. Thus, he took home three first-place finishes and one second-place finish from his first competition. For a novice competitor, it was a very successful entry into the bodybuilding scene.

Above all, it proved that Baena doesn’t want to limit himself to just gym photos.

Another competition brought another victory

He followed up on his first success the very next weekend. At the INBA Iron Gladiator Classic, he won the title in the Classic Physique category. These two competition appearances in such a short period confirmed that Baena takes bodybuilding seriously. Of course, it’s important to keep things in perspective. Successes at regional competitions cannot automatically be compared to the results of elite professional competitors in the IFBB Pro League.

Baena is still at the beginning of his competitive career. Nevertheless, his initial results have shown that he is capable of preparing and presenting a competitive physique at the level of the competitions he has entered so far.

After the spring competitions, he returned to training

After his victory in April, Baena allowed himself a period of more relaxed training. He subsequently announced on social media that he was returning to a regular training and nutrition routine. One of the workouts he shared, for example, was a program focused on the quadriceps.

It included front squats, leg presses, front kicks, back kicks, and other lower-body exercises. In the following months, he continued preparing for his next competition. And now it seems his next competition is approaching. Based on the dates in his October posts, he could compete on the weekend of November 7–8.

However, neither the exact date nor the location has been confirmed yet.

Will Joseph Baena follow in his father’s footsteps?

Baena will likely never completely escape comparisons to Arnold Schwarzenegger. His father won seven Mr. Olympia titles and became one of the most significant figures in the history of bodybuilding. Such a legacy naturally attracts attention. At the same time, however, it creates exceptionally high expectations. Joseph has only just begun his competitive career, and it would be premature to assess his professional potential based on a few regional competitions.

His progress so far, however, suggests that he doesn’t view bodybuilding merely as a short-term experiment. If he does indeed compete in another contest in early November, it will be an interesting opportunity to see how his physique and posing have changed since the spring. One thing is certain.

Joseph Baena no longer needs to prove that he can take the stage in a bodybuilding competition. Now it will be interesting to see how far he can go.

Photos of Joseph Baena taken just before a competition can be a real source of motivation. But behind that chiseled physique lies a regimen that certainly isn’t for everyone. If you want to improve your own fitness, you don’t have to copy a strict pre-competition diet or train like a professional bodybuilder. It’s much more important to create a system that’s sustainable in the long term. Part of that can be ensuring adequate protein intake, which GymSupps XWhey Protein makes easy to achieve. If you’re also trying to improve your performance during demanding strength training sessions, you might want to consider GymSupps Creatine Monohydrate as well. A daily intake of 3 grams of creatine enhances physical performance during repeated, short-term, high-intensity efforts. And don’t forget: your goal doesn’t have to be the competition stage. What’s much more important is that in a few months, you’ll be stronger, healthier, and happier with your own physique.
