Josef Hála is the first Czech to win the title in the prestigious BKFC!

On Saturday night in Rome, Josef Hála became the first Czech to win a title in the BKFC, the world's most prestigious bare-knuckle boxing organization. In a thrilling fight, he became European champion when he defeated Italian Francesco Ricchi by TKO in the third round.
A journey that seemed like a dream a few months ago has become a reality.
"It's absolutely the biggest milestone. For someone who started bare knuckle for fun, it's gone a bit wrong. I'm extremely happy, this is how I became a professional athlete," Hala confided before leaving for Italy.
In the fight itself, he faced a taller opponent, but proved his dominance in the second round when he sent Ricchi to the ground. The definitive end came in the third round. Fifteen seconds before the end of the fight, the referee stopped the bout because the shaken Italian was leaning against the ropes and was unable to mount an active defense. At that moment it was clear - the title belongs to the Czech Republic.
Immediately after the fight, overwhelmed by the huge wave of support, he told the fans from his hotel room:
"I'm absolutely going crazy on Instagram, it's normally crashing as the messages jump on there. Thank you for the support. It's home, we're taking the belt to the Czech Republic!"
This historic achievement is a huge step not only for Hala's career, but also for the sport itself, which is still building its name in the Czech Republic. Hála has proven that he has something to build on, and his ambitions certainly don't end there. He would like to make his way to the American part of the BKFC and is not afraid to dream of fighting legends like Mike Perry.
