Jay Cutler is clear: Andrew Jacked is the future of Olympia, Walker is the disappointment of the year...
The Mr. Olympia 2025 competition brought one of the biggest surprises in recent years. While Derek Lunsford enjoyed a narrow victory over Hadi Choopan, the bodybuilding world is talking most about the unexpected rise of one man and the disappointing performance of another. Legends like Jay Cutler and Milos Sarcev agree: at the top of the Open category, the hierarchy is changing.
Andrew Jacked: The future champion is here!
The biggest sensation of the evening was undoubtedly Andrew Jacked. After years of being criticized for his underdeveloped legs, he finally showed the form that earned him third place. His improved quadriceps and sculpted gluteal muscles secured him a position among the absolute top.
Four-time Mr. Olympia, Jay Cutler, spared no praise, calling Jacked "a future champion." According to him, Andrew has huge potential and if he continues the trend he has set, winning the Olympia is only a matter of time. Cutler even predicts him to triumph at the upcoming Arnold Classic 2026. Milos Sarcev also agrees with this opinion, describing Jacked's performance as phenomenal.
Nick Walker: 'Mutant' disappoints expectations
On the opposite side of the spectrum was Nick "The Mutant" Walker. One of the biggest favorites for the title ended up coming in sixth place. According to his coach, he failed to time his form correctly, which was evident on stage.
Both Cutler and Sharchev agreed that Walker was the biggest disappointment of the competition. They criticized his efforts to gain additional muscle mass at the expense of symmetry and control of his abdominal muscles. His legs looked flat and overall he fell short of his previous form. For Walker, this is a clear signal that he needs to rethink his preparation if he wants to think about a title shot in the future.
A new era of bodybuilding?
Mr. Olympia 2025 made it clear that big changes are coming at the top of male bodybuilding. While defending champion Samson Dauda dropped to fourth place due to a failed strategy at a lower weight, Andrew Jacked proved that he is a force to be reckoned with in the fight for the most valuable statuette. Thus, future bouts for the Mr. Olympia title promise to be a thrilling and unpredictable spectacle.
