How much does it cost per month to be a professional bodybuilder? Martin Fitzwater came out with the truth!

The sport of professional bodybuilding allows competitors to show off their insane physiques and fans to marvel at the spectacle on stage. What is not shown is the endless amount of work and money spent. While athletes have started sharing various training and diet plans on social media, few break down what the exact cost of competing in bodybuilding is. Professional bodybuilder Martin Fitzwater shared his daily costs as a bodybuilder.

Fitzwater, a competitor in the open division, began competing in 2017 when he finished second during the NPC Colorado State Pro. He then won a NPC North American Championships in 2020 and earned his pro card. In 2021 and 2022, Fitzwater competed at the IFBB Texas Pro. Last year, he finished second to Andrew Jacked.

Preparing for the show itself, however, comes with a lot of expense. These include food, high-end supplements, travel, the gym and much more.

And it was Martin who calculated on his Instagram how much his monthly life as a professional bodybuilder costs him. You might be surprised, but the total amount came to about $4,382 (94,476 CZK)! Of course, the cost varies for every athlete and depends on many factors, but it's definitely enough to give you an idea. So, do you still aspire to be a professional bodybuilder, or have you changed your mind...?

In the video below, you can watch a video in which Fitzwater calculated his costs.
